12th overall pick, the Dallas Cowboys select

He's my guy........was a close among him, Bain, and Downs, but this kid can be my defensive leader/QB for the next 6-8 years. He will be a coach on the field by year 2-3, and that's huge with the new defensive scheme we are installing, especially if we lose CP.

As mentioned in another thread......one blogger suggested he's more a hybrid than a conventional MLBer. Says you can play him at safety, MLBer, and big nickel. IF this is all true, it appears this is exactly the kind of player CP wants to lead his defense.

Yeah all until it's contract time and Jerry waits all off season to negotiate

At 12 sure. As far as Fred Warner comps........I have to see more. Fred is on a Luke kueckly level.

I do not think he falls to us and if they did sell out to trade up I think it would be for one of the edge rusher or Downs.

With that said, the Cowboys stick and pick...

With the 12th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft the Dallas Cowboys select 3Tech DT Bilbo Baggins of Shire St. He might be small but he is stronger and braver than most think. He also has a weird knack of disappearing and then making the tackle. Some players on the Oline have said, its like he is magic and is invisible.

I'm not a Baggins fan. His feet are too big for lateral good agility. He's also got an injury history what with the spider sting and all.

The feet could be an issue with tripping.
However it was Frodo who had the injury history with the spider and getting stabbed by an orc weapon.

Bilbo remained mostly injury free in his prime.

Downs is probably the only walk in star of all the defensive prospects in this class.

Character issues. There was an incident where he supposedly stole a ring. He also pulled a Dez and left his handkerchief at home
While he'd have to be thoroughly vetted it's hard for me to hold it against the kid. After all these guys are all trying to win a ring. Honestly if he's there at 20 I'd take Samwise Gamgee. Great character and a known workhorse. I deem him a three down player.

He also is usually late coming back from half time...something about needing second breakfast.......

Love it!

QB Ty Simpson.

Don't panic. Due to the shorter 8 minute maximum per 1st round selection, Jerry wasn't able to complete the trade.

After making this selection, he then trades him to the team that was negotiating the trade.

How is Styles falling to 12? Will have to have a hellava run on O players and not expecting that to happen. If it does will be the first to say I was wrong.

Ok, you got me. I didn't remember this player so I looked him up lol

Bilbo Baggins is the title character and protagonist of J. R. R. Tolkien's 1937 novel The Hobbit, a supporting character in The Lord of the Rings, and the fictional narrator of many of Tolkien's Middle-earth writings.

6. Dallas Cowboys (from CLE)*

Sonny Styles | LB | Ohio State

Cowboys get: No. 6 overall, No. 39 overall

Browns get: No. 12 overall, No. 20 overall, No. 152 overall

Trading up for an off-ball linebacker? In this economy? Well, take your “positional value” complaints elsewhere, because Styles is worth it. He’s got a rare combination of size, athleticism and versatility that makes him a true three-down weapon against both the run and pass, and he’s exactly the kind of leader you can build an entire identity around on that side of the ball. This defense needs a tone-setter in the middle, and Styles has all the traits to be a special player.
