We should take advantage of Miami being in rebuilding mode

Nope. When you do that, you give up any contract leverage and then immediately have to give them inflated deals.

You'd end up spending probably close to $40m AAV for a RB and a LB.

I like Achane, but Miami at least publicly isn't saying he's available.
He's an explosive back, and has been in a rotation, so wear and tear isn't at a Zeke level.
That being said, he's due for a big raise next offseason, and do we want to pay him like a top 5-10 back?
Same for Brooks. He's due for a new deal in 27 and came off an AP season.

Probably would have to sign Achane to a new deal as soon as traded for to get him to show up for OTAs/Mini camp

The 2027 draft is believed to be one of the best in years, if not the best this decade. We're down a 1st, 4th, and 5th, and some fans want to give away what little capital we have left.

This is how you wind up in the NFL's basement for years.

the say that every year. No one owns it but a year ago they talked how deep this class was gonna be for quarterbacks….

No, they do not say that every year.

2 of the QBs people were expecting stayed in college, that won't happen next year.

Naw I for sure remember people hyping up Nussmire, Allar and Beck getting hyped as first round guys. Nobody was talking about Mendozza. People will lie now and pretend like they never said it.

Yup. That and not taking advantage of the strength of a draft. I'll never forget trading up for Mo when facing one of the deepest DLine drafts. Derek Wolfe, Mike Daniels, Akiem Hicks, Brockers, Mike Martin, Malik Jackson. There were a pile of good DLs in that draft, and we end up w/ tweener Crawford. Well done, Jerry.

I would trade them Pickens and our pick at 20 for their 2027 & 2028 1st rd picks and a 2nd this year. They may suck awhile so the picks should be high.

I was so annoyed we gave NY a first rounder next year instead of the GB pick this year. It's like nobody in the FO looks at future drafts.

Achane isn’t showing up to off-season workouts and it is known that we are pursuing Brooks. Would you trade 2027 2nd and 3rd rd picks for Brooks and Achane?
Dallas needs to obtain more draft picks, not trade away their draft picks. 2027 is a real good players draft, better than 2026.

No. In a loaded draft next year, the Cowboys only have a 1,2,3,6,6. You trade away the 2 and 3 that just leaves the 1 and two 6's.
