Darren Woodson: Why Caleb Downs will change Cowboys' culture

This was a fantastic draft pick. Downs will be the best S since Woody and I think he will be better than Woody.

Watching the Cowboys defense won't be near as painful with an impact player a S for a long time.
I suppose I won't be able to go to the kitchen or bathroom EVERY single time on defense now.

And I'll guess I'll keep my Ticket. I wanna follow this kid...like I did at tOSU.

Something we should keep in mind......... this is CP's first DC job. He will play chess with some of the best OCs in the league, and frankly, working from a disadvantage. He will need some time to understand all his players' strengths and weaknesses during live competition and how it impacts his play calling. Hopefully we will temper our expectations a bit for players AND coaches.......at least until mid-season.

Or, the players respond to him and his scheme and the defense catches fire... Of course your scenario is more likely, so I understand being reserved, but as I've said in other post, defenses can be turned around quickly these days with new coaches and player turnover.

Thats true but......Don't forget the trade to get Dee Winter. Also Rashan Gary. And last years acquisitions of George Pickens and Q. Williams.
Oh I'm okay with the aquisitions. But the brass has to show me they know what to do with 'em.

+1

We hope he does, hope none of our draft picks go near that INJURY BUG that plagues this team

I just worry with the Cowboys culture the vets might not listen well to Downs until he's no longer a rookie. But Woody is right about him. And the Cowboys NEED that qb of the defense. Woodson's little tidbit about Dak practicing already was great too.
What vets? Everyone is nearly all gone. I hope I’m not missing anyone but aside from Hooker this vets are all gone. It doesn’t feel that way because just last year at this time Diggs, Micah, Osa and Donovan Wilson were playing.
