Kiper gives the Cowboys an A grade for their draft

Great start. Truthfully, we must stack another good draft class on top of this one to properly circle back and judge the totality of what we did the last 3 days. The Dee Winters acquisition was huge huge HUGE! Wouldn't be shocked if we slide him out and still aquire Brooks or sign Wagner. I still feel we lack another vet there. I said it when we got Dee, he is very likely our new green dot LB. I'm good with it. Wanted him since the 2023 draft. Watched a ton of his games at TCU. He was steady Eddie. You got the same effort each week. Made key plays and at the most critical moments. He was the alpha dog on those teams. We got us a dude finally. LVE wasn't as good as this guy. Sean Lee was the last true stud in the room. Getting Winters for a 5th Seems epic. Hes 25. He has 10 more years to play barring injury. Love it. Hes the key to making it work.

"Don't forget the trade to get Dee Winter. Also Rashan Gary. And last years acquisitions of George Pickens and Q. Williams."

I'm helping someone here by putting this in every thread
Keep on truckin'

Don't forget Kenny Clark.

I don’t know how we do it it seems every other draft but we get some luck for sure. Getting Downs reminds me of Parsons falling, Lamb, and Dez. Sometimes the stars just align for this team.
Every team is bound to get some “luck”. As for parsons, maybe in hindsight you think he fell, but there wasn’t a single person during that draft that was holding their breath for him in the moment. Shoot, we even traded down when we could have gotten him.

No. That's not part of the draft grade. We traded Micah for draft picks who then turn into players. What we do with the draft picks is what's being graded not the trade.
Does it really matter? It still comes come to the results when all the picks are settled. They still need to be factored in somehow.
Can't really look at just the drafted players only at times. What they trade away all the picks for proven players.
Then the draft would technically be an F? But yet you get, say 5 really good impact players?

I'll have to look later. My guess right now is you made that up and hope I believe it.

Nobody made anything up. Mel Kiper hasn't given the Cowboys an A grade in the draft for atleast 10 years, maybe more.

So my guess is that you made what you said up without checking facts and hoped everyone believed what you said. Im actually not surprised, I'll just leave it at that....

Funny how Kiper grading starts with 'Positions of Need' when drafting for need is widely considered a trap.

And of course, if a team has a lot of holes, then yea they're going to cover those positions of need.

Dallas gets an A because they got a top 3 football player at 11.

They savvily moved up one spot to secure Downs by only surrendering two 5th rounders, which they quickly recouped (and then extra) by extracting two 4ths from their divisional rival.

In a thread discussing Mel Kipers draft grade, it matters. If you want to start another thread exploring the totality of the trade and offseason moves, that is a different subject.

You figure it your way, I will figure it my way. Draft picks only, or the totality of trades made.

We all know how much we value Mel Kipers evaluations .

Looks like to me only one starter on Day 1.

And the rest are iffy. Maybe we have another starter or could have several backups or rotational at Edge.
