In case you haven't noticed, all actions shows are the same too. You take any 8 episode action drama and you have the introduction of characters, followed by the layout of the plot. Good guys face bad guys. Around episode 6 or 7, all hope for the good guys is lost. Either the good guy is captured (never killed) or someone he loves is captured. Of course there is always the impossible escape or rescue. Then in the last episode, there is the fight (which seems to go on forever where the good guy is losing but then somehow wins. Of course there are some variations, but it is still the same formula.

Best representation of WWII put on film. Most say saving private ryan because of the opening sequence....but Band of Brothers is better over all and based on real people.

Love this series...but I am a big WWII nerd when it comes to movies and shows.

One thing I have noticed that has changed. There is not as much vomiting in TV shows now as there was a year or two ago. Every show had someone puking over something. Sometimes it was weird too. People really don't vomit as much in really life as they do on TV.
 
Recommending again that folks check out Maul (as in Darth Maul) on Disney+.

It’s not a kiddie storyline. Folks get killed and maimed. The animation is great.
 
What an epic two title fights in the UFC tonight. Van vs Taira was insane. And Sean Strickland taking out the undefeated Russian bear was so great. I'd get Paramount+ just for UFC.

Also, anyone watch For All Mankind and Monarch on Apple TV? Both are absolutely fire. And finally The Boys. Crazy, stupidly nuts. It lost some traction a bit but ive been on the ride since Day 1. Let's see how they end it.

It is fantastic how they continue to add layers to Darth Maul. The one-time appearance in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was given new life in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Now, Maul: Shadow Lord raises the focus on his hidden story even more.

I had only one negative critique of this first season. It is understandable why the visual theme is dark. Maul is a former Sith Lord at this time, but he is a member of the Dark Side. Makes sense, but a few scenes approached literal on-screen blackness. Each episode's opening titles were readable, but were still a little difficult to read without staring.
 
The Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon documentaries on Netflix. Hogan's just came out. Give them both an A. Something about wrestling history that is just as great as any pro sport. Fun to watch. I didn't watch much wrestling during the WWF/WCW years, so it was cool seeing what had happened in both documentaries, because Hogan was a huge part of it.
 
I don't know why but I started watching Deadwood, the HBO series from a few years ago about a wild west town. When it first came out I watched a couple of episodes and turned it off. Watching it now, I am really enjoying it. There are some good characters, some great acting from a good cast, and the story itself is good enough to keep my interest. Looking back I have no idea why it didn't interest me when it first aired.

Never watched any of it. Maybe I'll check it out sometime.

It was a great series that was cut too short due to changes at HBO. They did the same to a show called Rome.

Years later they did a deadwood movie to try and tie things up.

Enjoy this one...might contain a spoiler..

I remember the reasoning being the budgets got too extreme for those shows. Not sure if that was true it’s been awhile.

Yes. They were spending huge amounts for both.
New Head of HBO came in and those were the two that were the most obvious to save some money.

Rome they gave a final season but it was so rushed forward in time that it was terrible.

Deadwood did not get that final season but years later they finally made a movie to try and tie things up.
