Woodson vs Witten, who gets the HOF nod first?

Well let me start over because obviously everybody missed the part where I had love and admiration for j w.
That said, he had a signature move that created separation, he and romo worked it out to a T , it was unstoppable.
Later in his career, he started showing his arms more and more, the refs began to call it, that hurt him.
Question is, if they begin to call this early in his career, would he have had a hall of fame career??

Woodson. Should have been in there his first year of eligibility.

Played at an all-pro level at strong safety, linebacker in the nickel, and slot corner in the dime. Cowboys' all time leader in tackles. Oh, and he still played special teams despite being a starter on three Super Bowl winning defenses.

I look at some of these players getting into the HOF and just shake my head that Woody was shut out. There was a long stretch where there was an alleged anti-Dallas bias in the Hall; they let some Cowboys in, and now I fear it's beginning again.

Love Woodson, but Witten is IMO unquestionably more Hall of Fame worthy as goes for production at his position.

Now, Woodson was an incredible player also and he kind of change the game and created a position that Caleb Downs is now going to wear like a glove.

That said, based on overall safeties that have played this game that are hall of fame worthy. I'm of the opinion that the 3 Super Bowls are really want puts the foot on the scale for Woodson. (ie, there are a ton of safeties out there that were better than Woodson) I know a lot of people put their entire week's lunch money on "championships", but in the end. One man doesn't win championships. Teams do and Woodson doesn't win championships without several other hall of fame players who deserve the hall of fame with or without those championships.

We drafted multiple tight ends in the second round and he had no interest in helping develop them. He also wasn't a leader because we would get to the playoffs and immediately exit. I can't say the same thing about woodson so hopefully woodson.

It was an off week and they weren't practicing that week. It was a bad look, no doubt, but nobody that played with or coached Witten ever said he wasn't dedicated and hard working. He was the guy other players said to watch to learn about how to play the game

They were going to play the Bucs or the Giants. Plenty of homework they could've done on their own, like leaders do. Jason was held in check, Romo had a passer rating of only 64.

Woody isn't. He'll get in eventually but not sure when.

Yep. Coach Cupcake made them soft. Then he was replaced with even a softer coach. Tuna was passed his prime, but he still had some fire left in him to turn this organization around, and he did. Have you seen "Deep Blue: Parcells' Final Ride?" I'm sure you have. But if you haven't, check it out. It's really good.

Both were great players, but Woodson was a difference maker. Witten was not. Lack of athleticism kept teams from having to scheme around him. Longevity, perfection and mastery of the Y Option route, and dependability (other than the Cabo trip) made him a great player. But he was never, in my opinion, among the top 3 TEs of his era.

Witten will probably get in, but he shouldn’t be in ahead of Woodson.
