How good are Cowboy going to be this year?

Biggest change is the DC and defensive staff. And also the biggest questionmark.

Nobody knows if Parker will be good as a DC or not.

We drafted a great college safety. But safety will not make such a big impact as pass rusher does. And he never played a NFL game.

We drafted some "maybe" pass rusher and shored up the run defense. But we had to replace players also. So the improvement just by the new players to me isnt as big as some want to make it here.

I see us improve. Defense will be better, 15 to 20. Offense will be ok. The misleading bloated stats will go down because of the better defense.

8-9, maybe 9-8. We will miss the playoffs. Eagles are the far better team. Commander maybe to.

Are they going to be as good as the 12 win teams with McCarthy?

Or the Garrett teams in 2014,16 and 18?

Or is this more of a rebuilding and development year on defense and we should hold down our expectations to just contending for playoffs? Like with Parcells.

Or are we expecting even more with added talent on defense unseen in action?
It's all about stopping our opponent's run game and putting pressure on their QB. If our defense can do both of these things then the Boys should have a pretty good chance at being real competitive in 2026.

They have a chance to be really good. Depends on injuries and some young guys fulfilling potential.

I am not arguing anything. I am simply saying je would not have made a difference.
What do you not understand?
What I don't understand is you thinking that. I mean our pass rush was so bad. I don't know how you could think they wouldn't have made a difference.

I think the Commanders are the biggest question mark in the division.

Not even close. The biggest change is the defensive personnel. Anything else is a distant 2nd.

Let's see, we acquired Q/Clark/Ogboner/Gary/Thompson/Winters. That's 6 new starters. And some nice reserves in Locke and a DT.

How is 6 new starters not as big as some make it out to be? And then add in promising rooks. We will easily be 15-20 on D. Monstrous improvement.

Commanders suck. They were not good last year when Daniels started. What makes you think they'll be good?

Yeah, he wouldn't have made enough difference because our D starters were so bad, but he would've definitely made some difference.

Uh...acquired? Guys who were here last year (when our defense was repeatedly violated)?

Pretty much agree with every word.

There is no one who can prove or disprove anything about this team

until the season is in progress

And I'm talking about 2 of them. Not just one or the other.

There's no crystal ball to determine what to expect from this year's version of our defense. The number of changes surely make it quite difficult to accurately make predictions.

I doubt we're likely to discover what to expect until the time arrives to actually see how these changes are handled. I'd expect it to be about mid-season before this defense operates with very respectable efficiency. I believe we can expect to be an exceptionally good team, once again.

It's will take some time and patience for all the adjustments on defense to be handily dealt with. The offensive performances should be similar to how this team performed in 2025. I think this team as a whole will improve very noticeably, but to precisely what extent is yet to be determined. Again, much patience will be required to get so many changes smoothed out on defense. The talent is there.

Mid, miss the playoffs

If we didn’t trade Micah you wouldn’t have Clark or Q. Who was gonna stop the run? Gain one thing lose another.

Keeping Micah and Tank doesn't stop you from getting other players. They should have signed Micah after years 3 like he asked. He even said, $30M... $40M... no difference. You are still set for life. What more can a player say?

You still have Jerry. There is no way he gets them help. Especially Q.

Uh......yes.

D jumped from 32nd to 30th after we acquired Q and Clark. They weren't enough(duh), but they did make it better.

And now we've acquired a quality starting S in Thompson, a quality strongside OLB in Gary, an average MLB in Winters, and a solid 2 down NT in Oboner.

Why are you questioning "acquired"? I don't understand.
