Will the Cowboys make a substantial post June 1st move?

They aren't done adding players but it won't be in early June. I suspect we will add someone in August and probably late August. That's when the bargains come out and we love our bargains...

"Comp pick formula" ends at 4:00pm on the Monday following the draft my friend. It's not a June 1st thing. As of April 27th, 2026 (4:00pm est), no player you sign affects what you are going to get next year in comps. Been this way for quite a few years.

June 1st used to be the day you could cut players and spread the hit out over two seasons. Now that you can designate players ahead of time, it's not quite the day it used to be (on the transaction wire).

Shoot yea you're right

I wonder if it will rain
nope crazy pivot Welcome to New England George Pickens and Dallas gets a first a second, a 3rd for 2027 draft and 2028 gets a 4th and a 5th you know something like Tyree Hill got people act like George Pickens shouldn't command that kind of change but if he's that good everyone keeps saying how good he is why wouldn't you want to take the younger healthier and more playing in their prime, They should take George Pickens over A.J. Brown..

Right I'm Just throwing out a crazy scenario that can happen people think that George Pickens won't be traded He could still be traded at anytime between now and the trade deadline They just have to make the right offer the Cowboys do not need to first they can get something adequate I believe what Waddle got was close to in draft value to getting to first they just did it in a different way but if Khalil Mack can go for what he got and all these other players already mentioned George Pickens is still in play if somebody really needs a starting wide receiver has a major injury or they're disappointed after camp George Pickens might still leave this team..

No people say it can't happen but how can you say and some say that he's better than CD lamb right now that he's a true number one that he's a top 5 wide receiver and yet he got no offers at all not a single offer of any kind you don't have to bring 2 1st to the table just to make an offer it can just be refused no offers is a red flag to me but that can all change overnight just like we lost Parsons a week before the season started Don't sit back and think George Pickens is playing for the Dallas Cowboys in 2026 like it's a concrete guarantee..

You remember how Crosby and two first round picks happened in a trade and then the trade was rescinded and they threw him back all this talk about A.J. Brown has all but simmered out it might still happen but I already posted this scenario on the other post what if New England has thought about it and maybe wanted a little bit younger player in their prime like George Pickens what if they go after George Pickens instead?

AJ Brown has been talked about in a trade in New England and everyone thinks it's gonna happen but just like the Crosby deal there's been other deals that have not gone through that people thought were gonna happen..

I happen to live in New England, 20 minutes from Gillette Stadium
The people want brown,
Will it happen, I don’t know will it rain?

And both can be true yes, and both can be true as the deal can fall through..not Sure, why would they wouldn’t want a guy who might be bad for a young quarterback disguise already showing how he doesn’t get along with hertz is aging he’s no longer in his prime sure, why would they wouldn’t want a guy who might be bad for a young quarterback disguise already showing how he doesn’t get along with hertz is aging he’s no longer in his prime etc

Seems I’d NE wouldn’t pivot to Pickens but hey be careful what you wish for..I guess for the cowboys to get Brown off not he eagles and keep Pickens can help them take back the division..

I'm not liking the depth along the DL- Still think we need another dude @ the 5 tech

DE-Bullard/?
NT-Clark/Ogbonnia
DE-Quinnen/Overton

Doesn't have to be a big money player....but he better be a dude....

50/50 chance they get another starter in here, I'd say. If the past year has taught me anything about the front office, it's that they are willing to at least temporarily adjust their way of doing things, so maybe they make another significant splash on top of what they've already done. I want them to but they don't care what I want, or maybe they do??

Be on alert for some guys you never heard of in life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A guy that was a former 3rd round pick, but can't get anytime on the raiders roster!!
That’s likely the case. We aren’t gonna trade for a star and most of them we could afford unless they are on a year or so contract. We have Dak and Williams we have to soon deal with.

It's not that I don't believe we need talent, its just that I am not sure they will spend what they need to get it, at least not in a trade. Do you think the Dolphins will let Brooks go for a 6th? Do you think we will give up a 3rd? Maybe, but not sure. We won't be the only team in on him, so who knows what they get if he is made available. Not having a 4th or 5th here could come back to haunt them.

Wagner could make some sense, but he was available a long time ago (not the June 1st date that this thread is about). Unless he is waiting and the team knows it, there doesn't seem to be much movement on our end, we could have signed him months ago.

Again, I could be wrong (and hope I am).
Agree. I could see a vet signed but really need to be cautious with picks. That’s the key to managing cap. Those 2-4 rnd picks aren’t real expensive but you got to hit.

Linebacker...there is a possibility the Cowboys could make a move here.

Edge...Not likely unless they go after Clowney.

Tackle...No. Just straight up no. Some fans want the Cowboys too, but they are rolling with Guyton and Steele.

Corner...another possibility but not I would be surprised because of how many there already are.

If the Cowboys make a move at any position it won't be for a big name player. More of a serviceable player who can fill a role.
So frustrating they won't take Tackle more seriously. That could derail the whole season with what looks to be a very promising team, especially the offense. Maybe I'm sleeping on Nate Thomas.

Look man they've spent the better part of a decade proving you wrong they have added to the offensive line over and over and over and now they turn their attention into the inside and they're fixing the inside you can't have 5 Pro Bowlers along the offensive defensive line all at one time that's just not going to happen so sometimes you have to develop a position or 2 and now the tackle have become a position of need but they are addressing so much other needs that they can always put the best out there they're not ignoring it they're literally building the rest of their team and hoping that the coaching staff like Clayton Adams is supposed to be an offensive line whisperer can get them in line and going..

And yes Nate Thomas he could develop just like Bass or Hoffman Those were surprises they were very good they could have been starters that's what you call great depth now that they got the inside fixed they'll work on the outside but it doesn't happen overnight or all in one offseason..

And by the way just because he was a 4th round pick at one time the guy they just drafted from Penn State was considered going into the 2025 season a top thirty pick meaning a 1st rounder he was one of the better offensive lineman in 2024 he dropped off a bit for whatever reason..Drew Shelton (OT, Penn State)

The Cowboys along with the rest of the NFL had found gems in the 4th round, I wouldn't call that a late round pick there's been some great players come out of the 4th round,

So yes they did address it, they got one of the better rated college tackles I don't know if they're going to be a left tackle or right tackle but just because he slipped in the draft but not quite as far as a guy like Tom Brady but in the same area as a Dak Prescott or a Tony Pollard don't write him off because yes they did address it guyton counts nate Thomas counts And now they picked up Drew Shelton (OT, Penn State)

Because a lot of fans the problem here is you guys think it has to be a 1st rounder or maybe a 2nd round in order to be good but maybe you ought to look at the NFL history and find out they all can't be picked in the first round they had bigger fish to fry and they did so they fixed the bigger needs,

If needed they will go out and get a swing tackle before the start of the season but they're gonna let it play out right now four months before game one and see who rises to the top who steps up..

Go look up Drew Shelton He was a pretty high draft prospect going into the 2025 season and had a drop off Is that all his fault was it an injury was it just having an off year this guy could surprise a lot of people..

Wouldn't be surprised if they end up trading for Crosby giving up next year's first rounder.

I'd be all for it too.

Pickens would require a significant financial commitment. A J Brown requires much less capital to acquire, is signed for three seasons, and would be more than $10 million per year cheaper in compensation.
