Machota ranks Dallas position groups from strongest to weakest

He pretty much nailed it.

I'd have to think on TE a bit more, but Dallas has phenomenal depth even with the bust of Schoonover.

Tiers
1. Wide receiver -- top 5 in NFL
2. Quarterback --top 10 in NFL with top 5 ceiling
3. Safety --top 10 in NFL with top 5 ceiling

4. Defensive line --11-15
5. Offensive line --11-15
6. Tight end --11-15 If Ferguson is healthy
7. Running back --11-15 in NFL

8. Outside linebacker --16-20 in NFL
9. Special teams--16-20 in NFL

10. Cornerback --21-25

11. Inside linebacker -- 26-30 in NFL with dead last floor

and yes, CBN and LB can move up quickly if guys develop. but these aren't top 15 draftees or super proven guys.

Name a "top 5 QB" with better receiving weapons. I'll wait.
Name a top 5 QB with a worse Left Tackle.

Dak is overpaid without a doubt but he is also a legit MVP candidate.
His stats will absolutely be bolstered by the WRs same as his stats were lessened by LT play the last few seasons.

At the end of the day choosing to come bash Dak all day is simply mental illness.

If the goal is to win a super bowl, why is QB ranked at #2?
Because if you asked everyone in the industry, that’s what you would see.

This post is the definition of cognitive dissonance.

Middle LB problems are too large to overcome without bringing in a quality player. Haven't they learned anything?

That is a lot of projecting.

He is rating the positions based on what he thinks we will see in the 2026 season.

The defensive line looks good on paper. There is a lot of potential but shouldn't this list be based on realization.

Also, the CBs and safeties are rated separately but the DTs and DEs are not?

Some players get rated twice if they also play on special teams? That is a position?

This list does not make a whole lot of sense.

We need to get this new season started.

In fairness, if you ranked the best positional groups from the last two SB winners, I doubt you'd have QB as #1 on either the Seahawks or Eagles.

He’s putting our edges in the OLB group.

Calling out facts and giving cheerleaders a reality check is not mental illness...quite the opposite. You operate on faith...I operate on facts.

Actually, you operate on feelings...even worse.

Been saying this .

Ferg is mid and the rest are spares
He didn't run his usual depth routes. More like dump off catches. Still he scored 8 TDs. 4 drops & 3 fumbles hurt...2 turnovers out of the 3 fumbles. 82 receptions out of 100 targets, so I guess that's an 82% completion rate for 600 yards.

Not sure if I'd say he had a great year, but 8 TDs ain't bad.

Answer the question please. Stop making excuses. Stafford has 2 good receivers - not as good as Dakie-poo - and yet he led his team to success. So…

Oh yeah…we all know Dak ain’t Stafford. Or Mahomes. Or Allen Or even Sam Darnold.

Come to think of it…how is Dak “top 5”? I don’t consider him top 10…given that he’s being carried by 2 #1 WRs.
Are you really saying there is a big difference between CD and Pickens vs Pacua and Davante? Pacua might be the best in the league and Devante led the league in TDs.

Because we have TWO all pro receivers….a lot of teams don’t even have 1….an abundance of riches. I’m ok with this list like this because as a wr duo they are the best in the league. Better than literally everyone else at this point.

Aikman was competing against other HOFers. Steve Beurlein or anyone else who replaced Troy never looked as good - in the playoffs - as he did in the offense. Same with Emmitt. Same with Irvin.

When Dak goes out...guys like Cooper Rush win. I dunno...
Copper Rush. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

And his 140 yards per game :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I think CD and Pick edges them out. Devante not quite what he was at GB while both CD and Pickens can play like 1st team all pros. They are 1, rams 2 and bengals 3 I think.

Ya agreed, but I wasn’t saying they were as good. But not far behind either.
