I can see both sides. I'm not mad at Pickens for deferring his answer to his agent. Don't love it, but that's what he's paid to do.

At the same time, what does it say about the relationship between the player and the coach? I don't see Coach Schotty as the guy that would make an announcement without clarifying its validity. If Pickens said he would be there, the manufactured ambiguity creates confusion. Not a great look.
