If he believes that, why did he demand to the richest contract in NFL history when he hasn't come close to getting there? He's missed the playoffs half his career.

This is the main reason I turned on him. Demanding to be paid like a Mahomes while lacking the skins on the wall to show you earned it has always struck a nerve with me. It's like demanding the Medal of Honor when all you did was scramble eggs in the chow hall every morning.

What does that have to do with wanting to win?

Contracts are a business issue not a football issue. And what amount would have made you happy.

You are judged by how you play in all areas at all times
BUT for a QB, Playoffs and big games are what people remember.
and in that area Dak simply has not played up to the money he is making. He is certainly not alone. Mahoomes and Stafford (somewhat) are about the only ones that you could say have earned theirs all the way.
Burrows too I guess but being with the Bungles is crippling anyway. Allen has turned it over too often when it mattered; Rodgers really is not as great as his rep; Stroudt has sucked. Goff has been meh; Mayes not enough yet to really judge.

“If you play this position — I’ve said it before — how you’re judged is winning that last game,” Prescott said this week, via Todd Archer of ESPN. “Anything other than that, you’re warranted to get [the criticism] because you’ve not won that game. If you’re not wired that way and if it’s not what pushes you, you should probably find a different job and a different position. I think we all feel the same and if I know those guys are like me, it’s an obsession.

“So, yeah, it’s about making sure that you give everything that you can to this team and give them the chance to do it.”

and this is especially true of you are the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. If you can't accept that, go play for another team. Tony Romo understood this and as much as I loved watching him play, he will always be judged by not getting there and I believe that's totally fair that it happens. Why? Using Tony as the example, he's doing just fine. Being the QB of the Cowboys afforded him opportunities he would have never had if he played as a TE somewhere.

Back to Dak, I am glad he said it. He gets it and I've never doubted Dak's leadership and heart. He has all that in spades but he's not quite an elite QB and that's OK because he's good enough to actually win the big game. He just needs the right things to fall into place and having Jerry and the rest of the Jones's around severely hampers that.

Yeah it’s hard to feel too bad for these guys when they are millionaires and will always have a job because of that Cowboy brand attached.

Only push back I have is do they get it? If I wanted to be defined by my success in the playoffs I wouldn’t play in Dallas. Or is it a situation where they think they are the ones that can get over the hump? Because if you do win in Dallas….they may get a statue lol.

forgot about hurts but yes I would put him with Stafford below Mahoomes
