PFT: Dak; QBs are judged by winning that last game

Prior to that 12th season, how many times did Stafford have a team around him anyone thought was a legit contender? Megatron was the single All Pro he played with during his entire time in Detroit.

Dak has played with 29 All Pro's.

Context matters.
Stafford excuses?

he should be able to win it all by himself.... just like dak went 7-9-1....

or am I missing something.

this is not a defense of Dak, but using the same measure for both.

Dak Prescott handed his critics a huge counterargument in future conversations (if they can remember him saying it). That said, the only failure is wanting to be paid if it is being categorized as a failure. Any player receiving a contract whom observers do not see as deserving is a total failure of the individual co-signing the contract.

That responsibility is solely held by the Mad Genius Agency of the Dallas Cowboys franchise. Established 11,763 days ago. And counting.
You don't think he equates winning with pay?

And Dak is a solid qb who chokes in the playoffs. Romo has been gone 10 years. Move on already and stop bringing him up to defend Dak. Dak is a great regular season QB. His playoff performances are questionable at best. It should be put up or shut up and he never shuts up even if he won't put up. Is he capable of putting up in the playoffs? Sure, I think this past season shows he turned a corner and will deliver if given the opportunity, but he needs to put his money where his mouth is in the playoffs.

Stop baiting. Stop bringing up Romo to deflect. This is about Dak only. Romo couldn't get it done (no matter the reasons). Dak isn't getting it done (no matter the reasons.) Really as fans all we can do is hope the Cowboys make the playoffs and hope Dak did turn the corner and stops choking in the playoffs. I think he can do it. His regular season play recently was different against winning opponents and is encouraging. But he should just shut up and play until he actually stops choking in the playoffs.
I think you took that post far more serious than you should’ve lol. I don’t think it warranted you feeling the need to defend Romo.

And respectfully if I want to post about Dak or Romo I can say whatever I want. Not sure why you feel you can control the narrative or tell people how to post but you’ve been here long enough to know that’s not gonna work.

It's like demanding the Medal of Honor when all you did was scramble eggs in the chow hall every morning.
So that's why you don't have one! Lol....
In all seriousness, strike while the fire is hot, fans don't care about you, the owner is willing to pay, career ending injury is around every corner. I guarantee a soldier or anyone that was able to set their family up for life, would do so.

Dak lovers address that statement!
I'm no Dak lover, but I know enough to know that if you're judged by your last game, there are 31 losers playing QB in the NFL every year. As far as being overpaid, yes, he is....no question, but any man worth his salt would maximize their earnings. I never won a state title, or even top 4, but I negotiated to be one of the highest paid coaches in tje state for a 3 year span. That's one reason I was able to retire at 50. If you're leaving money on the table, you're taking money away from your family. Just my opinion.

It's days like this I miss members like @Mountanieercowboy. He was definitely one of those extremes. I imagine this thread would have been over a dozen pages by now if he were still around.
Look for Brokeback Mountain on Google Maps and go join him. Have fun....

I expected this sort of pushback the min I read his quote and I agree somewhat, especially on whether or not he deserved $60M a year. But this isn't anything new.......all fans I have read/heard agree he is overpaid, even his 100% hard rock supporters. Honestly, I don't blame him......it's Jerry who gave him the contract $5M more than the next highest. He could have made Dak the highest-paid QB at $56M rather than being lazy and standing his ground.

I'm not getting your Mahomes comparison...... many QBs were making more than him prior to his new extension ($64M), yet you are singling Dak out. You are smart enough to know the NFL QB market pay fluctuation is based on the next up generally becoming the newest, highest paid.

There are a few QBs on record who admitted ( Mahomes, Allen, Burrow and Lamar to name a few ) their willingness to sign team-friendly deals. Dak, on the other hand, has always been all business. I think some of that thinking goes back 4 years as a starter playing on a 4th round rookie contract.

Either way, his career as a Dallas QB could come to an end by 2028 IMO.
AAV:
Patrick Mahomes $64M
Dak Prescott $60M
Josh Allen $55M
Joe Burrow $55M
Lamar Jackson $52M

From your list, the cheapest is Lamar at only 8M/year less than Dak. Not exactly “team-friendly”. These are all very expensive contracts.

I’m confused on why Dak is being criticized for being “all business” when his non-SB winning counterparts aren’t?

I
Know they’ve been cut but Tua and Kyler were right there too.
