From Day 1 as a rookie through his first 5-6 seasons, Zeke was unstoppable...

What is Ezekiel Elliott up to nowadays? Would be nice to see him show up and try to help our current RBs like Tyron Smith is doing with the Olinemen.

Zeke his first 4 seasons was lightning in a bottle.

I will never forget 2016 with him, Dak, and that 11 game win streak.

The way he ran into a wall and fell off so hard athletically was pretty shocking.

He should've had the same production and longevity as Derrick Henry and almost finished with a Hall of Fame career. It's unbelievable how he fell off the cliff.
two different type of backs and body types. Zeke was good size RB with some speed and explosiveness but when he started adding mass to protect his body from all the hits he lost his burst. Henry was always a big back and he had more "room" to add a little bulk and not let it affect his game.

He was more interested in partying than training. You look at Henry, he lives a clean lifestyle way under his means. look at Emmitt, he lived a pretty clean life style spent most of his money on maintaining his body and mind and that is why he went as long as he did. Sanders was same way. Stop partying and take care of what the good lord gave you and it will keep you moving long in to the later years.

It was the Corona virus. After he caught a good dose of it, he lost the spring in his step and never got it back.
Wow. I never thought about this, K. Thinking about it, now, it makes sense. Is it true that Zeke got the Corona virus? If so, how many times and during what years/seasons?

So true.

Yes. Don't remember the date, but I vividly remember him never coming back from it. Robbed him of burst and vitality. He was never the same.

Henry is a workout beast and started his career sharing carries with Demarco. They were never gonna have the same longevity.

Are we sure he partied anymore than anyone else? I’ve always seen fans assume that I guess because of his trouble before entering the league but I don’t recall hearing too many stories about his partying.

He had covid, but he got his bag, and was no longer hungry.

Yeah, Zeke was a beast. In his prime there was no one better. I was surprised how fast his skill level declined. But it's pretty common for running backs to have short careers.

Yeah, it's wasn't Covid. It was overwork combined with too much partying and too little training.
That's my thought as well.
They ran him like Murray and I have to wonder if he also just lost the passion to put in the additional effort to stay in tip top athletic shape.

Then again, it is a position that receives a lot of blows, and versus guys who can weight 100lb more than them. Could of just been wear and tear alone. Just a shame that he declined so quickly. Couldn't even play at an top level when his extension officially started.

Zeke was absolutely elite his first three seasons (2016-2018). It was evident in 2019 that he had lost significant burst compared to 2018, though statistically he was still very good and productive. Going into 2020/2021 he was alright but a shell of who he was. After that? Cooked.
