Hill: Pickens will be at minicamp

Yep, right move. He needs to prove he isn’t an off the field problem, and being the age he is, he can certainly survive one year on a tag and get the bag…if he also behaves.

If they try to tag him again, and aren’t offering him a fair deal, then I’ll side with him.

For now this works for both sides, and even if he is only here for this season, the two we got out of him was well worth the cost.

I’m figuring they will draft a WR in the first that’s ready to be a 2 immediately, and the Pickens money can be allocated elsewhere. If this is/was the overall plan, I fully agree and it was a good one. That within itself is rare.

I could be mistaken but I don’t think he’s ever said he’d be there
He indicated he would, even though he may have not said those exacts words.
He said right before the draft, he planned to sign his tag contract. Which sent some fans into a tailspin.
And he did sign it, sending them into a tailspin again.
His agent did not allow him to answer that question at his youth camp, and they went into a tailspin again.

Now we will wait to see the responses today. :muttley:

Totally agree, but I think next years 2 is already on the roster- Ryan Flournoy

Yes, he signed the tag which led everybody to assume he would show up. Contractually it makes no sense for him to sign it and not show up. So the assumptions are probably going to be proven true. But he never actually said he would show up and when asked about it directly , he didn’t answer which led to some questioning whether he would show up.

I can see that. He seems pretty solid, if not spectacular. Him plus a first rounder allows them to let Pickens walk.

I’m not against signing him long term, but I don’t think that’s the plan. If so, I finally don’t disagree with an approach, so I certainly can’t rip them if they go that route and it doesn’t work.

I read here that his two second pause and brief stammer before answering the question was an indication that he’s a locker room cancer completely consumed by greed.
