Why disguise and confusion is no problem for Cowboys Dak Prescott

He's closer to 10 than 1. This makes him a midQB making top dollar. It won't translate...we've "seen" enough.
I’m not arguing with you about how good Dak is or isn’t, but being closer to 10 puts him in the top 1/4 in the league. That is not close to mid.

32 QBs. "Top 10" is a pathetic way to associate "Dak" with "top".

Top 10 - included in top 30%. Way too broad for this to be associated with excellence. For example, suppose the drop-off from 3 to 5 is significant? Kinda disingenuous to lump #9 in with #2, right?

I could bang on about this, but you get the point. Dak is hovering around 8-12 on most lists...he's not considered near the top 5. And every year newer, better, younger QBs are going to challenge his "top 10". Point is, that top 10 is a ridiculous measure of ANY QB ...not unless we are talking about all-time, not league-wide.

But you discount when Dak has a good/decent defense. That's your issue...it's all through the lense of support for Dak. How about Dak not giving the opposing offense a short field? In fact, you could argue that in playoff games Dak is a HUGE liability to our defense.

In fact, I would love it if you and Dak did a Cooper Rush and didn't try to wing it or get stats..but actually considered the flow of the game, the defense, the kicker we have, etc. All you do is think of Dak as a victim or the sole reason we even have a defense. This is backwards.

And yes, Rex Grossman and Kaepernick are not video game people. They are men who learned a game, won the job and performed well enough over 16-19 games to give their teams a shot at a championship. It's really, really hard...even if they are not the most skilled people. Honestly, anyone who knows football doesn't put Grossman in the same category as Kaepernick. In fact, Dak is somewhere in between as he's never done what they have and doesn't look like he will ever get there...and you can't blame that on defense alone. Dak didn't perform well when we needed him...and Grossman and Kaepernick DID.

Grading Dak on a curve is an admission that he's not doing it alone and that he needs sympathy. Pathetic for the highest paid EVER. His pay is not on a curve...so neither is my grade.

Its really sad because you are obviously an intelligent person, yet you type so many false statements like....

1. "I discounted when Dak has good defenses and thats my issue, its all through the lense in support of Dak"

Ive never done that. Dak has had good defenses and DAK, the Dallas Cowboys football team, coaching and management didn't get it done. Quick question, as good as some of those defenses were, what was their ranking vs the opposing team's running game?

2. You posted these things trying to say that I excused Dak for some of our failures. Its sad that you have to tell lies to make some desperate point, but im sorry to inform you that I ON MANY OCCASIONS have clearly stated that Dak has his fair share in our failures in the post season and in games mid season that we really needed to win.

I suggest you do your research on my posts before you type any further false statements. It upsets you that im not one of the dumb people here that places ALL blame on Dak in a sport that consists of 52 other players, management and coaches. Our team wide failures aren't the cause of one player. That's the dumbest, uninformed, lack of team sports knowledge things that someone could ever say because this isn't boxing or golf.

3. You said "you and Dak need to do a Cooper Rush". First of all, I haven't played football in many many years, so I'll pass.

Second of all, why the **** would Dak want to do a "Cooper Rush"?? So you want Dak to spend most of his career bouncing on and off of practice squads, holding a clipboard and barely having the arm strength to average over 140 yards passing per game?

Cooper Rush doesn't want to do a Cooper Rush.

Maybe Cooper need to be more like Dak and become a perennial top 10 quarterback who has proven he could put up All-Pro production and place himself in MVP considerations. Cooper Rush has never, or will ever be able to do anything Dak has done. As a matter of fact, Cooper Rush's name should never even be spoken in the same sentence as Dak.

4. You never answered my questions.... according to your logic and what quarterbacks are responsible for and graded by, Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles and Brad Johnson are better quarterbacks in the BIGGEST GAME than Jim Kelly, Dan Marino and Joe Burrows, CORRECT?

According to your logic, Rex Grossman and Kaepernick ARE BETTER QUARTERBACKS at leading their teams to the biggest game than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, CORRECT?

To conclude and to kill all lies and false narratives..... Dak IS NOT an elite quarterback. Dak HAS COST US in some playoff games and mid season games that we really needed to win. DAK PRESCOTT HAS BEEN part of the problem of our team failing to advance. Dak is NOT the ONLY reason we have failed to succeed AS A TEAM.

Gineric: Quick question, as good as some of those defenses were, what was their ranking vs the opposing team's running game?
Sixshooter: I have a better question? What's the highest paid, most coddled and supported player on the team (Dak) record against top teams or top defenses? Even in the regular season?

Gineric: Second of all, why the **** would Dak want to do a "Cooper Rush"??
Sixshooter: You make my point. Dak is more talented than Cooper Rush and yet Cooper Rush played within his abilities. Dak doesn't. He thinks more of himself than necessary because he dominates the weak NFC East - that may change as it did for McNabb later in his career - but when he collapses against top teams or in the playoffs, reality comes crashing down. It's OK to believe in yourself, it's not OK to be delusional.

Gineric: You never answered my questions.... according to your logic and what quarterbacks are responsible for and graded by, Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles and Brad Johnson are better quarterbacks in the BIGGEST GAME than Jim Kelly, Dan Marino and Joe Burrows, CORRECT?
Sixshooter: Incorrect. You are actually guilty of what you accuse me of...except that I think I'm not wildly off in my summation of your points. I never made any claims about their all-time careers...I specifically said, " Rex Grossman and Kaepernick are not video game people. They are men who learned a game, won the job and performed well enough over 16-19 games to give their teams a shot at a championship. It's really, really hard...even if they are not the most skilled people." So contrary to your strawman misrepresentations, I'm actually making a simple point: It's REALLY REALLY HARD TO DO! The best have a decent shot at doing it because they are going to get multiple attempts. Of course, occasionally some guys get a shot due to a good defense...and they only get one shot. But guess what? THEY DIDN'T CHOKE! IF THE TEAM LOST, IT WASN'T BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T COMPETE!

As you said yourself, "Dak IS NOT an elite quarterback. Dak HAS COST US in some playoff games and mid season games that we really needed to win. DAK PRESCOTT HAS BEEN part of the problem of our team failing to advance."

And yet.....you expect a QB to take up that much cap space, demand all those weapons and investment and then you want to whine about not having a D? All the while being a CERTIFIED CHOKER? The team is all about Dak! And it got us to 7-9-1. He does not deserve 100% of the blame but the largest share of it goes to HIM. You either get this or you obfuscate.

There are max dollar contracted quarterbacks who have never won a playoff game. There are max dollar contracted quarterbacks who have never been to a Superbowl. There are max dollar contracted quarterbacks who have never won a Superbowl.

But its hilarious how I've never read anywhere that TEAM WIDE issues on offense, defense, special teams, coaching staff and management were the quarterback's fault other than here on this forum.

Then you gave excuses to those other quarterbacks ive mentioned with, "THEY DIDN'T CHOKE" but Jim Kelly had four cracks at it, Joe Burrows had a crack at it and couldn't do what Nick Foles and Trent Dilfer did in their first try.

My favorite excuse you typed was "IF THE TEAM LOSS, it wasn't because they didn't compete". Oh so now its a TEAM game now....

Yet you blamed Dak for the Cowboys being 7-9-1 last despite our defense being ranked 32nd. Dak was ranked 4th or 5th overall at the quarterback position, our offense was ranked top 5. But I guess they didn't compete. You also said "this team is all about Dak". Thats amazing because every other team is all about the team and the coaching staff.

Truly amazing. You can't make this **** up.

You got it bro....

I actually agree with you. My main point was if you’re in the top 1/4, you are not mid. But like you said, it doesn’t necessarily make you elite. But at least you gotta be pretty good. Not that it matters much. Lol

But the top 4 - might actually represent one tier, 5-8 another and if Dak is 9-12, he's a "top 10 QB", but he's a 3rd tier QB - MID.

But I don't need "rankings" for me to tell that Dak is mid...I have results.

But let me say this, I do appreciate you correcting me regarding your Dak position. You are not an apologist. That said, you are creating the permission structure under which his most fervent disciples operate. This weird cult must be rooted out if we are to get back to the one true religion - The Cowboys >>> Dak.

There’s different criteria when looking at results. I put him at the bottom of the second tier. But your assessment is fair depending on your criteria.

The problem with Dak at this point, is we are having arguments about year 3 or 4 of his development at year TEN (10). Most of us don't hate Dak AT ALL. We've just got so many examples, facts, "results of experiments" that we are arguing against E=Mc2 at this point. People are still denying E-Mc2. The hope of Dak being great = the theory of relativity being FALSE.

He’s 6-7th. Deal with it.

I don’t think Dak is great but I think he’s plenty capable. There are so many reasons why the team has failed and it’s not always Dak. It’s funny how many complain, rightfully so, about the GM, coaches, OC, play calling, talent but then put it ALL on Dak. Do you wonder why the word hater is used so much? And let’s not forget, you can’t blame Dak for his contract, and you know who is at fault for it. Not many players would turn down extra money, especially nowadays. (Kinda strange when you think about that. The players make so much money but there were more players willing to take less to make the team better when they made much less compared to today).

From what im reading, your real problem is with Jerry, not Dak. Our defense last year was trash because of the defensive coordinator who was hired. Let me guess, its Dak's fault that the coordinator was hired? Last time I checked, the owner can pay the coordinators whatever he wants because that doesn't affect the cap. But I guess choosing a defensive coordinator is Dak's responsibility too, huh....

You keep talking about how much Dak makes, but he doesn't pay himself. He didn't draft himself to the Cowboys. You keep bringing up what personnel is on the team, but im sorry to tell you, that isn't Dak's fault. Dak is hired to play football, not manage contracts for other teammates.

Dak never held a gun to Jerry's head and made him pay the contract. This team isn't all about Dak, its all about Jerry. Correct me if im wrong, but the last time I checked Jerry still has the power to NOT sign players and let them walk.

Im still trying to figure out, how its Dak's fault that Jerry paid him to stay and extended his contract. What quarterback in the NFL has more decision making power than the owner? Or is Dak the only quarterback powerful than his team's owner?

Im sorry bro, but you're coming up with the most outlandish reasons to blame Dak for things beyond his control that I've NEVER heard any other quarterback blamed for regarding team success or failures in NFL history. Thats crazy.....
