A familiar pattern has developed over the last seven years with Dak

More like

When the playoffs hit, its season over.

Not gonna matter how good Caleb and the defense is.

Well that depends on how the TEAM plays. Playoff success and failure depends on the players and coaching staff collectively. There has never been or will never be one player that win games in the playoffs.

I know this information is a narrative killer, so I'll apologize in advance, but this isn't boxing or golf. Glad I can educate you!!!

That is true ........ but the guy who has the ball in his hand every play, freezing up for the first 2 quarters, sure can put the team in an unwinnable situation. Especially when he throws mutiple interceptions early.

This information is lazy at best. Just blathering "but it's a TEAM game...you blankety blanks!" explains nothing about HOW a team wins...or loses. A single play by ONE player certainly *can* make or break.

Yes...there are indeed many micro events through the game. But you tell me if this play doesn't seal the win:

And yes...I see he had a little bit of help but that's a one man game winner.

That one man's game winner wouldn't have been a game winner if the opposing offense had scored more points or the opposing defense allowed less points, correct?

Trent Dilfer did in 4 quarters what Jim Kelly couldn't do 16 quarters....

Dilfer won a Superbowl. So what should I take from this? Again, I don't create the narratives, I just abide by them.

Right. But there HAS to be a way to assess the game. There HAS to be a way to say THIS play is more important than THAT play. You generally like stats, right? Why follow or even record individual stats? Becuase individual plays are important.

If jack doesn't make that play and texas scores there...it's a different ball game. That play was CRITICAL. Made largely by one man. Yes...the rest of the team had jobs to do...but if you can;t understand the importance and spectacular play that one man did...I don;t even know why you'd watch the game.

I suspect you do understand this...but you have to stick to your "team game overrides any other factor" deal.

Also please remember I already said the whole thing is a series of events...of course. If Ohio State players didn't make plays as a team and were down 30 points, that pla doesn't matter as much. But the fact is...it did matter.

One man caused a fumble, recovered the fumble, ran 80 yards for the stake in the heart of the opponent. It matters.

Sam Howell?

Apparently the Knicks had a 10 week abstinence rule. Coincidence?

I think Howell will be a good backup. But hopefully we actually have a long term starter in mind....then again, maybe Howell becomes Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield for us.
