Hoffman filled in adequately, not greatly. Hennessy according to experts is better. They didn’t do it for the half mil savings. The cowboys try and improve the team and they still get pooped on.
Regardless, both backups. But I prefer a known quantity who has played with the rest of the OL. Some had said, he is starting material. Not probowler or high end, but good enough to be starter in the league.
I honestly don’t believe Hoff to be a long term starter. Love the dog in him though. I wouldn’t have been upset if they had kept him.

Yeah, I went looking and there's at least one report saying he has played center. It looks like he was a decent guard in the UFL, so maybe they feel center might work for him since it is the most protected spot. If he already cross-trains at it and can handle the snapping, he might be a good pickup. The team he was on in the UFL had the top rushing attack in the league, I believe, or at least one of them.
Could have gone either way, but the D needed that attention.
We'd be very fortunate if we only lost a backup to injury this year. I'm not sure it has ever happened that way for us ... or most other teams.

Bingo. I'm almost 60 but had disc fusion surgery at c6-7 (neck) 25 years ago. Never been the same since. Was devastating as a younger man with a family. I had to adapt and change jobs because of it. Reinvent myself. Scary. I've never heard anyone say how awesome they feel after this procedure. In fact, they usually feel good for a short time then things go downhill from there. My neck is so bad I had to take my retirement way early. I feel for this player. The young man probably is wondering about his football future a bit. I hate it. Injuries suck.
