Christian Parker: Communictation is a Premium

Genius.

A lot of defensive coordinators...especially new ones that have never called a play in their life like Parker.....say communication on defense really isn't very important, and say things like "communication schmacunication" in press conferences, and then mostly rely on 2 soup cans attached by a piece of string

But this Christian Parker..... he's saying communication IS important. That just proves we got ourselves a new superstar

did he say he’s living in a hotel? Interesting
Yeah, I guess he wanted to go right to work, and not do any house work !
His wife and kids evidently are in phil? or denver? they dont want to move around.
Right now he should have time to go home for a week or 2.

Maybe he doesn’t plan on being in Dallas for long lol

if this defense doesn't get fixed, it may be the only place he has!!!:angry:
so you dont have confidence in him doing that??
Man we will be way better than last year . It will be amazing.
He can have a steak dinner and dessert delivered to his room at night too!

To me this is just political jargon, let see it translate before the hoopla has alot of the fans buy into overhype on the yearly. Defense should definitely be better, hell just not having Murray on the field will be an upgrade.

He’s young, he’s hungry, and he knows this is his shot. He’s putting in the plans, the work, and all that alone boosted us several slots in the defensive rankings vs last year.
Even non-football experts could see the defensive players were unsure of their assignments half of the time. Many of those players had had success in recent years. Did they just overnight become terrible players who can’t play the game?
I don’t think Flu could’ve coached the 2000 ravens defense last year. His time in Chicago showed he mailed in whatever it was he once had. So we could’ve had a massive infusion of talent and I don’t think it would’ve mattered. With Parker, i actually have some hope again for the d.

I'm impressed by his genuineness. Sure, he does sound confindent as well, but the way he approached the questions about his being a 'first time dc' showed a level of honesty that surprised me. His answers where well-thought out and directly answered the questions he was asked. Schotty has a similar vibe and it's just encouraging to hear.

It's making me realize how painful the Garrett PCs where. I kinda stopped watching PCs in general because of how robotic, vague and pre-planned each word Garrett spoke. I am just now realizing how deeply that scarred me.

Another thread with just a link and no added context so here yall go - talking points from the video:
  • Emphasis on Communication: Parker prioritizes clear, concise communication as a "premium" for his defense. He emphasizes that he works to streamline pre-snap communication to ensure players are on the same page, regardless of their individual personalities.
  • Teaching Philosophy: A core aspect of his coaching style is being a teacher. He utilizes various methods, including "pop quizzes" and conceptual exercises, to ensure players fully understand the defensive scheme and fundamentals beyond just rote memorization.
  • Relationship Building: Parker believes in "getting to know the man before you coach the player". He actively builds relationships with his players through off-field interactions, emphasizing that these connections are essential to the team's collective success.
  • Collaborative Coaching: Regarding his staff, Parker highlights a highly collaborative environment. He views himself as a coach to his coaches, encouraging open dialogue to ensure the entire staff is united in their approach to teaching and preparing the players.

It sounds practical because Schotty's next move is to set up an RV near the practice field and have home food delivery.
