Key dates for me are August 15, 22 and 28.
about 5 year ago it would be something to see, the rules have changed so much, teams aren't going to want to risk their guys getting injured for scrimmages

Why, why, why…..does the off-season feel as if it’s endless even though it’s about half/half???

Once the games start its week ten before you can blink. This time of year is like dog years.

And they will not expose their entire offensive and defensive playbooks either in preseason games, BUT I can get a better feel of how they will scheme by even using backups. Coaches simulate what they can with their personnel substituting for other teams' units, but the best simulations come from scrimmaging or playing other teams in preseason games.

Final cut days for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

I cosign.
Slightly related rant. My granddaughter visited me on Father's Day. She is a member of her high school's dance team.

Somehow, she convinced me to watch the Netflix's show for the DCC. Never watched it before. I was surprised being entertained by its reality television approach. I'm not big on fake reality television.

There we were. Sitting together. PawPaw and my kid's kid. Then I saw It. It was addressing the tryouts. It was Charlotte Jones.

Lovely family moment ruined. She and I are anime fans, so we started watching something we both enjoyed instead. It was either that or puking more into my mouth than had already ejected from the esophagus.

Why don't you like Charlotte? She's ok. Stephen and Jerry are the ones that need to go away!! LOL

I'm hoping our overall group of players see fit to show up in good condition for a change. Perhaps that might help to avoid the early injuries that this team has suffered in the past. There should be enough smart ones to be well aware of that. That's vital to getting a good start. Let's just hope so, anyway.

I cannot belive Dak was able to leverage the NFL to giving the Cowboys a late training camp start to rest his knee longer!

Sometimes you give something like that a shot and you're pleasantly surprised.

Im not a fan of those reality shows because over the years it became to obvious how they were anything but realistic as outcomes and scripts dictated "spontaneity"

Looking back though, some of the very early ones were pretty hilarious at times

The highest paid at $60 million per year gives him some clout. Too bad he can't translate that into playoff wins and a SB.:popcorn:

I have never ever watched a TV reality show, other than a few minutes here and there flipping around the channels.
Unless you want to call the NFL TC ones when the Cowboys were on it. I never watched another team.

Bar Rescue came in and scoped out the bar I used to own. But they (bar rescue) declined at the time. It was busy, and going well. It did not need to be rescued. About 8 years later they contacted the person I sold it to (who also owned it when they first came around). Wanting to come in again. And she turned them down. Because there was a bar in Arlington, they chose to do that 8 years before.

it was a fairly successful bar, a local type neighorhood bar. They changed the name, and created drama for the show that was not currently there. They had to go by certain rules, and keep the name change for at least 2 years, I think it was 2 years. Let them control everything.
3 years after the show, it closed up. 2 years after, business was worse than before, changed the name back for a year. Business picked up a little bit. Then closed.

She is part of the clan. Sure, I would accept the reality of her taking over from her father and bypassing her brother. I believe she may be the best of the Jones management DNA, but it is still tainted.
We must all hope and pray Jerry leaves the team to charlotte. If she runs the actual team anything like she runs the DCC, that will be the fans only shot at a glimmer of hope. That or the kids being forced to sell the team. Other than that, if you’re stuck with Stephen or Jerry jr or any of the other family then the Dallas cowboys will never win anything for the rest of their existence

..so funny you mentioned that. I remember the Restaurant rescue season with the English buff guy.

I watched first season. The irony in that, one of the restaurants was one of OUR locals, about 10 miles away.

We decided to go and support them. We got there and was seated towards back end. It was packed that day because of TV publicity.

A few minutes while waiting to order. A fowl smell began to emerge from somewhere, we could see from everyone faces that we weren't the only ones affected.

As I looked around the makeover appeared shady, looked cheap and tacky. It looked better on television. Wierd how that works.

Anyhow, the restaurant didn't survive regardless, of makeover show. Closed down year later.

This is the main reason the owner turned them down when they contacted her to come in to do another evaluation.
She wanted no part of them. Things are going great the way they are.
Just a local bar, been in business for 51 years, under several owners. Actually she is the 5th owner. Not counting the guy that had it for 1 year.
The owner by the way is my ex wife. :muttley:
No she did not get it from the divorce. She was the best option to buy it. As she wanted to move back to the area. I had to travel for my work. And working full time and running the bar was killing me.
I still help to run it, when she is out of town.

That old saying comes to mind, "IF it works, why fix it? "
