A familiar pattern has developed over the last seven years with Dak

Wasn't that Sam Howell that carved our defense up a couple years ago when he was in Washington? I stand to be corrected if im wrong.
Is that where I heard that name before? I knew I knew him from somewhere.

Of course. NFL teams usually hate long term.contracts, given nature of NFL, so it was risky of KC tonoffwr a 10 year contract, but Mahomes was worth the risk. Still at the time 45M was highest contract per year
For QBs I’m not sure that teams hate the longer deals. I think that was one of the sticking points with the Dak deal if I remember correctly. The cowboys wanted a longer deal but Dak wanted a shorter one so he can re up sooner. Similar situation during the Lamb standoff too was the cowboys wanted 6 years.

By AAV you’re absolutely correct. The issue with the Dak contract is Jerry really got nothing out of either extension. Dak took him to the cleaners both times.

Actually sounds just like all addictions. Addicts don’t think logically. Hope he gets it under control.
It's a weak mind. Not all addictions are the same. Calling it an addiction is just an excuse, IMO.

How ironic!!! When I looked up the Dallas Cowboys football team playoff record in recent years, it said the same thing, 2-5. Truly amazing!

Survey says?!? Men lie, women lie, numbers don't and the rest conveniently leave out context.

Oh yeah!!! I remember you conveniently dodged a few particular questions I asked you regarding quarterback records "head to head". Do you remember?

I mentioned that Jimmy Garoppolo was 4-0 vs Aaron Rodgers "head to head" According to your narrative Jimmy Garoppolo is obviously a much better quarterback than Rodgers, correct? Rodgers has been reported as a better quarterback than Jimmy G, so how can Rodgers fail to beat a lesser quarterback?

Are you gonna conveniently and mysteriously dodge these questions too?
Rodgers can lose a game too. I remember him stinking against the niners in the playoffs.

Ok cool, I respect your opinion. So you're saying Dak is responsible for the defense making stops, the running backs and receivers effectively making catches and running through holes without fumbling, the offensive line opening up holes for the running backs and not committing holding calls, and special teams for making tackles and making field goals, coaches preparing players with sound game plans?

What other quarterback in NFL history was responsible for the gameplay and efforts of 52 other men and the responsibilities of the coaching staff???? Give me names for context.

Or is Dak the first player in NFL history with the responsibilities in a team game?
I remember Dak throwing 15 picks in 12 games and it was the receiver's faults. Nothing is Dak's fault.

"Real men make their own luck." - Jerk from the Titanic movie

It was 50/50. Obviously the Chiefs thought the world of him. It's key to remember in both GOAT stories - Mahomes and Brady- the org drafted them, invested in them, replaced the existing starter and then proceeded to pair the QB with all-time great coaches. It wasn't just that the Patriots were lucky to draft Brady, but also lucky that Brady went to the Patriots.

The overall lesson here is that if the org isn't primed to groom a new QB and replace the middling current starter you got no shot at finding that guy other than dumb pure luck. It was not dumb pure luck that created Mahomes or Brady. It was deliberate intentional investment. No risk it, no biscuit.
The Patriots were not some shining beacon of football before Brady was named starter. Give him his dues. He is the GOAT after all.

Whoever believes that nothing is Dak's fault, don't know football. Whoever believes everything negative is Dak's fault is just as dumb as the people who believe that Dak doesn't have any faults.

That’s as close to complete as you can get. Thanks for proving my point. And no, Dak didn’t pay himself. Someone had to had given it to him. I actually liked Dak but I would have let him walk, although I don’t think he would have. Can you guess who the dummy was that gave it to him? Let me know if you need a clue. Lol
I remember Dak saying he didn't want to be the highest paid player in the league and Jerry saying, Then I'm not going to sign you until you do. Ya, that's how it happened.

Rodgers can lose a game too. I remember him stinking against the niners in the playoffs.

Yep vs Kaepernick "head to head" and loss..... according to the logic of a certain person or two around here.... that means Kaepernick is better than Rodgers.

I didn't make up the narratives, im just abiding by them....

Then why defend him from all criticism?

Nothing is Dak's fault.

Who said that? I don't know who's fault it was last season that made up miss the playoffs. Hell maybe you can help me out.

Our offense was ranked 4th overall and our defense was ranked 32nd overall. Who do you blame for us missing the playoffs last year? In your opinion, where was the problem and weakness of the team?

The statistics tell me that Rowdy and the vendors were to blame i guess. How about you?

True,

I think you are right QBs want shorter contracts to get to the next contract quicker. Their shelf life is generally longer.

The issue with Jerry was he left himself no choice, he wasn't a very good negotiator

In this last round, we literally had zero QBs on the roster, and he didnt evenmpursue anyone else...Dak's agent had all the leverage and Jerry dragged it out literally to an hour before the game.

But he milked the publicity

Nobody is making direct comparisons except for you. Unless you are saying mahomes and Brady aren't better than Dak?

We're talking 10 years. Last year's defense doesn't give Dak a pass for his career.

Jerry made the wrong choice. This isn't poker. You can't simply bluff your way through it. The other guy can see your cards. He should have traded him when he had the chance. Then he negotiated away his one winning card.
