Rate the last movie you saw

Since I mentioned I like WWII movies...

I liked this. I will say however that I think it is like movies that you watch once but might not watch again.... Kind of like the imitation game or Oppenheimer.

One thing that caught me a little off guard was Field Marshall Montgomery's role in the movie. Always thought Montgomery was viewed as a very conservative and cautious leader....I know he was the one who came up with operation market place but just always read he was too conservative for many of the military leaders.

Toy Story 5

9/10

Good stuff. As always, they have the magic formula of catering to kids but with enough humor sprinkled in to entertain adults.
I have never been a big animated movie guy.
The exception has been The shrek fanchise even though that last one was a stinker.....and Toy Story. I have not seen the 4th one for whatever reason but will be watching it soon and thing the 5th. Looking forward to them.

Disclosure Day – Just got out of this one. It was entertaining, but I didn't love it. I think my expectations were different from what the movie actually delivered.

The whole "force strangers into compliance by reading their minds" thing felt pretty silly, and I wasn't buying the "grab alien tech and instantly take over someone's mind and find their location in under a minute" sequence. It also never really explains why the aliens chose these two random people in the first place.

Overall, I was entertained, but it left a lot to be desired and didn't answer enough of the questions it raised.

Oh and side note (my time to edit the last post expired lol)...Emily Blunt was fantastic in it. Her performance was top notch.

The last new movie I checked out was Iron Lung. It's an independent, low budget sci-fi horror movie based on a video game. The online hype got me curious enough to give it a shot.

Overall Grade: B

I watched The Bride a few weeks ago. The film is loosely based on The Bride of Frankenstein. The plot jerked all over the place. Lol, It even had a musical number. The film was derivative of the first Joker film, with a bit of the Girl Power vibe thrown in.
The two leads, (Jessie Buckley - Christian Bale) were good. Especially Ms Buckley who i think is awesome.
The film kept my interest even after its chaotic start. I'll score it a 6.5, but this one is definitely not for everyone.

Michael - I really enjoyed this movie. I’m glad the movie didn’t gloss over the difficult parts of his childhood, especially his father’s harsh treatment and the impact it had on him. It did feel like it moved quickly, but that’s understandable considering how much ground there is to cover with someone as iconic as Michael Jackson. They touched on things like his skin condition, surgeries, and lack of a normal childhood without letting those topics completely define the story.

I know people have mixed feelings about Michael Jackson, but there’s no denying his impact as an artist. At his peak, he was a global phenomenon, and I don’t think we’ll ever see another music star quite like him. With the “to be continued” ending, it’ll be interesting to see how the next movie handles the later years, including the legal controversies that became part of his story. It’s a difficult balance.......honoring his legacy while also acknowledging the complicated parts of his life.

Of course it is lame a cheesy. At the very least they realize it and have fun with it.

In one scene a cop calls him highlander. Later in the movie they play princes of the universe by queen which was part of the highlander movie.

They play the 4 non Blondes song what's going on. Acknowledging the funny meme that had that song playing with the cartoon he man dancing to it.

At one point they are in the car and he sees a guy in another car blasting the classic club dance song I got the power.

I'm not looking at the spoilers. Did you like it?

Not a bad watch. Similar in some ways to Baby Driver but no cool driving scenes.

Not bad. This is not another odekirk as a retired assassin. But fun little movie. And I would like to visit that town restaurant :p

Seen this before and still enjoy it. It is the American version. The original movie is very good as well. Did not realize they made a one season show on this so I might watch it now.

This seems like this is one where they swung for the fences but just fell short. It has it's moments and you can see the idea behind it but it just falls short. Still worth a watch if you are bored.

Godfather III Background
Pope John Paul I died on September 29 1978 after just 33 days in office. The Vatican refused an autopsy. His body was embalmed within hours before any medical examination could take place. No death certificate was ever issued. The nun who found him was never officially interviewed. He had been about to investigate the Vatican Bank and remove its director. Every person with reason to want him gone lived to see another day. The files remain closed.

Supergirl - 3/10. What a boring ugly mess of a movie this was. Shockingly bad.

Have not been a fan of the superman movies since I was a kid and the Reeves ones.
With that said...the trailers for Supergirl did nothing to make me even slightly interested in watching it.

Sad. Pathetic. Bad pacing from start to finish. It's like the director started his vacation on Day 1. None of the jokes were hitting. Jason Momoa looks the part of Lobo, but I was not super-impressed--like he was projecting Aquaman more than anything. Liked Milly Alcock and the action/special effects were good enough, but that's about it.

Never thought something like The Flash would be better. The only good thing to say about it is that it is way better than the 1984 original, so whoopie for that. smh.

Extra rant. I see what James Gunn is gunning for, pun intended, but he may as well direct to get his vision on the screen. Please do not let Craig Gillespie near the DCU again. Then again, Gunn's plan is 'humanizing' the <expletive> out of the Kryptonians. Too much Kryptonite in your movies. Too much Kryptonite in your movies. Too much Kryptonite in your movies. Too much Kryptonite in your movies. And oh yeah. Add different evolutions of stars on top of that why dontcha? Good stuff. Fan freaking tastic. Whatever.

21 Bridges - Chadwick Boseman/ J K Simmons and a bunch of people I don't know, as NYC cops chasing down a pair of cop killers. I don't usually care for movies that have no comic relief at all, but this was pretty good. 7.5/10

Well, if you didn't care for it, I think I'm glad I'm not going to see it in the theater.

It’s a decent movie I’m just shocked Gunn greenlit that. It’s short which I’m fine with but it seems like they may have cut a lot of things out. I see the potential for a good movie but it’s like they sabotaged it.

If were them and they had the budget I would’ve made it a series on HbO max. Just a small 4 episode limited series to introduce her.
