Adams can fly under the radar among the abundant star power in Dallas, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Yet his track record has only continued to solidify him as a rising stud.

Christian Parker, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator​

Is it presumptuous to say Parker could be a head coach as early as 2027? Potentially, but his career arc doesn’t make it outright implausible.

Parker will get his first opportunity as a defensive coordinator with the Cowboys this season, looking to rebuild a group that ranked dead last in EPA per play and which surrendered the fifth-most explosive plays. What makes Parker highly appealing is his secondary background in Philadelphia and Denver, molding elite defensive backs like Pat Surtain II, Cooper DeJean, Quinyon Mitchell and McMillian.

I think the writer is saying the same thing.......I can't imagine any owner entrusting his team to him with only one year of experience as a DC.

I know it’s every coach’s dream to be a head coach, but he’s still very young and has plenty of time. No need to rush it.

He’s just built his first defensive coaching staff. Would he want to leave all of these men who have signed on to work with him after one year? I would doubt it.

The same for the players. Would he want to leave them after a single season? Again, I doubt it.

I agree 100%, but it would probably take a top-10 defense and a deep playoff run. IF that happens... hell, he MAY be ready.

I think Parker is in position if he does well to get an actually good coaching job. If for instance the Jets job is open I don’t think he takes that.

Since he was hired I've been saying we need to get everything we can from CP because he might not be here long.

I think Parker is in position if he does well to get an actually good coaching job. If for instance the Jets job is open I don’t think he takes that.

That’s a good point as well.

One good year, he might get a head coaching job. But it could be with one of the more dysfunctional teams.

Two or more great seasons and he’ll have his pick of where he wants to go.

Since he was hired I've been saying we need to get everything we can from CP because he might not be here long.

I read somewhere ( can't remember ) that Schotty admitted that a couple of assistant coaches were hired with future DC potential.

He is impressive, and just might convince someone that he is ready.

Jerry might be able to talk him into staying like he did with Payton and Garrett.

As far as I’m concerned, WHEN this defense gets fixed, I’d dump Shoddy and offer the job to PC, but things like that don’t happen. It’s certainly one way to not lose him.

Yep. Like Ben Johnson. Sat out when the Commanders job was available. Next year went to Chicago which IMO was much better.

Yeah we saw it with Dan Campbell. The coordinator just moves on. They’d keep Shotty just to get the free draft pick from Parker leaving.

I realize that and acknowledged it. It also doesn’t mean that the offense is working well, although that’s probably likely. I just wouldn’t want to lose a guy like CP to keep a guy most never wanted in the first place.

If this team does succeed, I think it’ll be more about finally getting the right players on the field…no longer ignoring key positions.
