Twitter: Dak Prescott's place in Cowboys QB History

Not arguing pro or con on Dak, but want to point out the GM never built a championship defense after Jimmy Johnson. So, it has been the owner/gm who has ruined the Cowboys chances of getting to and winning a SB. Dak and Tony R most certainly could have been competitive in the playoffs with consistantly better defenses.
Despite Dak throwing 2 crushing red zone TDs and keeping the D on the field too long against a very good SF offense in 2022, they only gave up 19 points to SF IN THEIR PLACE.

Apologies for the caps, but I get triggered by this myth that Dak has not had good defenses. The issue is that good defense or not, he goes deer-in-headlights. OK fine, let's say our D sucks...does that mean that Dak has to suck too?

Danny White could actually win Divisional Round Playoff games unlike Tony Choke-o and Choke Prescott.

Have more respect for the far superior QB in Danny White.
I like how you guys pretend like Danny White was this great QB just to crap on Romo and Dak lol. Not saying he wasn’t great before my time but the agenda is clear lol.

The chip shot FG he fumbled the hold on and recreated the ending of The North Dallas Forty in real life.
Oh...I thought we were talking about QBs.

When was that again?

And...a starting QB holding for FG? Why don't we ask Dak to do that and see what happens.

That's all ya got?

This. Danny White almost came back in "The Catch" game. He was beaten by very good QBs in the NFC Championship game. Drats Prescott can't say that.

I like how you pretend Dak is a great QB. Dak has had a much more stable, supportive journey FROM DAY ONE than Romo did. And even though I wanted Romo gone - he was a choker too - we have to call out facts. Andre Gurode was a nightmare at center...and while most of that was Andre, I do blame Romo for being too introverted to lead the team. In those circumstances, what can go wrong, will go wrong.

Danny White was performing with Tom Landy breathing down his neck...not The Clapper. Show some respect.

Andre Gurode was a nightmare at center? Not how I remember him at all. A damn good center actually. A 2 time All Pro….you just be saying anything Wendy.

Danny White had Landry not the Clapper? Are you saying he didn’t benefit from having a good coach? I know you’re not trying to take that angle.

If Dak and Romo had Jimmy or Landry they would’ve been SB champions….at least once.

I can agree on that.

The guy is so bad there are so many other options.
You must be a new fan. I sat through guys like Chad Hutchinson and Ryan Leaf and Clint Stoerner. That’s what “so bad” looks like. Dak isn’t that bad you guys just got a vendetta against him for whatever reason.

I can't believe two things here:

1) That you didn't remember this game and play.

2) That you are mad at me over it. I'm not the one who choked the hold and game away, Romo is the one who choked at the worst possible time.

Gurode was a very good pass and run blocker, but had a history of bad snaps. I would not describe him as a nightmare, though. He was memorable for not occasionally delivering the ball cleanly to the quarterback under center or in shotgun formation. Or he should be memorable. The miscues happened 'too often' for it to be considered an asset for any center.

Andre Gurode spoke of the infamous Seattle fumbled snap, which is well-known information that has never been universally accepted:

I remember the bad snaps I remember Flozell also with the false starts. This stuff hurts you so I get that but Gurode for sure did more good than bad. Especially after Parcells got to him and moved him to center I believe.
