Have you met current or former Cowboys? Good experiences? Bad?

Met Emmitt Smith buying shoes in Kenneth Cole at the Galleria in Dallas.

Didn't realize it was him until I noticed his massive diamond encrusted watch. Chatted for a few minutes while we tried on shoes. Lovely guy.
Shook his hand and didn't ask for a selfie.
 
I was once looking at buying a piece of land and in the chain of title was Bob Lilly. I saw him soon after and talked about the land with him. He was really genuine and friendly. It may have helped that I wasn’t talking about football.

Also met George Andre because his kid went to my school. I went to training camp when I was a teenager. Back then you could walk around right up to the players at the practice field. I and I spoke to Tom Landry briefly and he was not outgoing but very cordial and polite.
 
in 1988...at a local department store called anthony's here in okc...i met everson walls.
one of the kindest people i ever met.
one of my cowboys☆heroes who far exceeded my expectations.
i remember it like yesterday.
and will never forget the kindness one of the greatest cowboys of all-time showed this fan.

I saw Brandon Aubrey at a grocery store in Dallas one time. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a ****** and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
 
I once owned a small business and one of my clients was a pretty famous bar in Dallas, During the Super bowl years players gravitated to this bar on the days off after games. One of the guys I routinely saw was Alvin Harper. We'd cross paths and chat about the game for a minute or two.

The NFC Championship where Troy was knocked out of the game and they brought in Bernie Kosar, Harper told me Kosar pulled him aside and stressed the DB was about to jump that slant. He said Kosar told him to expect it on the back shoulder.

If you watch the replay, it's third and four and you'll see that is the play Harper caught it and ran for a TD.
 
emmitt came to give a speech here in abq right around 91. shook his hand asked him to sign my card he asked for $25 which of course i didn’t have (i was around 13) and i asked why and he said i don’t know who you’re getting this for. the speech was given and they raffled off a signed jersey and the kid that won of course was wearing a jersey. i was bummed but he still is my all time favorite player.
 
I know Babe Laufenberg pretty well. Super nice guy. He used to come to our games when I was still a school superintendent. I was able to spend hours talking to him. Really a good guy. I met his whole family.

Off the Cowboys, I knew Ernest Knox. His daughter went to one of the schools I worked at. I can't say enough good things about him, his daughter and the family as a whole. His daughter is a heck of an athlete, too.

I also knew Brad Dusek. His daughter was in my class. I met him and initially had no clue who he was. The name didn't connect. I was joking with him telling him that there is no acceptable reason for not being a Cowboys' fan. And then he told me his reason. I had no choice but to accept his answer. LOL His daughter, also a tremendous athlete, is a good kid.

I've met a few others but didn't have a real conversations with them.

Ran into Jerry at a Chargers preseason game. I was a lot younger and drunk as sh**. He was in conversation with someone else moving in the opposite direction, so my boys and I yelled out "How Bout them Cowboys!" Jerry without breaking stride raised his right hand to let us know we're number one! Hell yeah!

Ran into Herschel Walker at a sports expo and let him know I was a huge Cowboys fan even though he was a Viking. I asked him if it was true that he never lifted weights and he did like thousands of pushups a day, and he said it was all true. Ar times he's just take a deck of 52 cards and he would just do the amount of pushups that was on the cards until he finished the deck.
