Cowboys' last 13 playoff appearances

2023 loss was such a killer........we advanced to the divisional round the year before. Almost dominated the 2023 regular season. Home playoff game against the Packers, and we not only lost but also showed up looking like a Division I college football team, totally unprepared. It was just one unit; it was the ENTIRE TEAM.

I will always believe something happened that week or a couple of days before the game that had players thinking all they had to do was show up and bag the win. What a waste....... :banghead:
That game took something out of me that I haven't gotten back yet.

And since then the Cowboys have gone 14-19-1 so I am thinking it took something out of them, too.

That’s exactly what they’ve done just switch Harbaugh with Schotty. Harbaugh is overrated IMO.
You left out the part about wasting 2 years and potentially having more draft capital to retool with. Their records going forward will show what they show but almost everyone here would have rather had an accomplished coach to Schotty at the time.

Go forth and capture the Glass Half Empty award.

Same. This off-season has gotten me out of it a bit, but that was horribly deflating….and the events thereafter (or lack thereof) was a massive slap in the face, even for Jerry.

I’m not even talking about his “all in” BS. How do you issue a written public statement stating that you’re “close,” which implies that you’re not good enough as is, then proceed to do nothing to get better?

It’s as if he did that just to spite MM because he had to keep him because he wasn’t about to quit. That’s Jerry Jones true colors right there….would rather throw away an entire season than pay a head coach after firing them.

Remember he said it was “a major problem in the NFL?” Really? Haven’t heard anyone else mention it.

Just a casual nitpick of the replying tweeter 'Cassius' response of a graphic including a since departed head coach and current starting quarterback. He embeds playoff results of 1999 through 2023.

Would it be more appropriate to subtract those images and replace them with a pic of... I don't know... this is a wild guess... I mean he says playoff results from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s... something is picking at the back of my brain... maybe someone directly influencing ALL those playoff teams... someone like...

Well, dang it. I forgot about Mad Genius. :(
The irony here is that Jerry is the face of the team. He’s done everything in his power to become that.

He loves Jerry Jones.
He sure does not love his self. As a matter of fact he "hates" himself and comes here to spread that hate to try and make himself feel better...but it's a worthless cause as most posters already know. Pathetic.

Here’s the playoff stat that drives me crazy:
  • Cowboys playoff wins 1966-96: 32 playoff wins in 31 seasons including 5 SB wins in 8 appearances, and 8 NFC championships in 12 appearances.
  • Cowboys playoff wins 1997-2026: 4 playoff wins in 30 seasons; zero conference championship appearances; zero SBs.
That’s perspective.

That is the Jerry Jones factor.

BTW, the Jets, whom many misguided Cowboys fans point out as "More poorly managed than the Cowboys", has 6 playoff wins in that same span, and 2 CCG appearances.

I don’t think it helps that they seem to like to tie incentives in contracts to “making the playoffs.”

Too much of an element of ‘we’ve already won’ due to that and several other mouths during the time.

I want to blame inferior coaching, but I’m not sure. I just think most Dallas teams are hollow in essence (but not offensive stats) and end up beat by better teams that want it more when it counts most. I dunno, this ain’t news to anyone reading this.

Shoddys biggest challenge is shedding that somehow, but they’ve also gotta get back there first. The GM decided to neglect the roster for two years because he didn’t get his way so he took his ball and went home. Wonder how many strippers he cried to.
The only reason for the futility is Jerry Jones, and there's no way Schotty is going to coach his way past that. I'm not sure the Ghost of Vince Lombardi could get it done here either.
