Correct you need to be able to block on the offensive line not just for the quarterback you have to establish a run game some physicality bring the game to their side of the line of scrimmage but that's not how it's played most of the bigger games against playoff teams whether it's in the regular season or the playoffs this team struggles in that department So it's not just about how much time does Prescott have to throw but how about we add in the 11 penalties in one of the San Francisco games that people keep bringing up as if it was a close game it had to be Prescott's early interception that ruined the whole game...
But that's not true I watch a lot of games you can overcome early mistakes I watch Matthew Stafford do it in the Super Bowl two interceptions in the Super Bowl but his defense didn't blink His special teams contributed his coaching staff was great but especially his defenseive line was great..
And then there goes something else that the Cowboys have been lacking is the center of the defensive line No physicality They're either allowing too many run yards whether it's early in the game like in one of the San Francisco games or they give up too long a drives they eat up time of possession They're not physically imposing themselves on other teams and also that game that they had 11 penalties on the offensive line they had four really bad penalties on the defensive line some of us that are not casual remember these things we remember the trenches..
Can overcome mistakes again matthew Stafford did it but how about the 2023 playoff year where we got manhandled by the Packers from start to finish and they go back and blame Prescott because he had an interception or whatever happened early in that game..
Do it I keep bringing this up does anybody remember the San Francisco versus the Lions in that same playoff run You remember the half time that San Francisco looked as beaten down and done as the Cowboys I believe the deficit was about the same their offense couldn't do anything they weren't playing well mistakes are being made all over..
Guess what happened in the second half of that game They were able to come back they made a comeback you know why they made a comeback because the defense stood their ground and made sure the score didn't get any further away from them and you know what the Cowboys defense did gave up 3 straight touchdowns at a halftime that's all I need to say if anybody wants to keep bringing up Prescott and thinking his early mistakes which were created by a lot of the pressure and the one dimensional football that was being played because our offensive line was not good,
We definitely are casuals or haters one way or the other people don't get it everyone of those playoff losses you can attribute to the trenches or somewhere else along the team but the Cowboys need to be more physical in the trenches to have a chance against a better teams..
There's no doubt that Romo and Press got at points during the regular season had some great talent whether it was that wide receiver or running back a couple of the lineman were great and even a couple of defensemen were great at the time but they did not show up in those big games the games that we keep referring to was not good I bet if you go back you'd see a lot of the run game if you take all the losses in the playoffs hey I'm betting that the run average it's probably going to be around three or below that's right YPC 3 YPC
For no big runs the run game was not established The line couldn't block it couldn't open up holes it was getting penalties whether it was all game or at the wrong point of the game and then you go flip it to the other side yes 100 percent agree People keep pointing out mistakes yes all quarterbacks make mistakes I seen Troy through terrible passes and have an interception in the Super Bowl against Buffalo and what happened in the second half that's right the team bailed him out that's how it works if you have a better team..
