Those guys fall off and lose utility very quickly.

Pro: Deebo Samuel is a great receiving threat out of the backfield.

Con: The offense basically telegraphs him as a primary receiving option if he lines up behind the quarterback or sets up in the slot.

Kyle Shanahan successfully schemed the crap out of Samuel in his offense. I think the real question is whether Klayton Adams and Brian Schottenheimer could efficiently use him just as well (or better) in this offense?

Agreed.
He just reminded me of a Dez Lite receiver, who was a nightmare to bring down in their prime.
But unlike Dez, who could at least be a downfield threat, Deebo was a short yardage gadget player

Just my opinion (and I hope no one harps on his terrible backstory) but I have always seen Aaron Hernandez as a better comparison. Sproles was used more out of set positions, while Hernandez was involved in more pre-snap movement like Kyle Shanahan preferred.

...yep, young man's league. At 30 I would think he could have at least two more good years in him.

Hernandez never ran the ball though. Deebo averaged 45 carries a year during his peak in SF.
