Dak wasn't the first highest paid quarterback in NFL history. So show me the data proving every highest paid quarterback at their times was the best quarterback in the league, every season they were the highest paid.

If it wasn't like that for them, then explain why you expect it to be like that for Dak.

Again, Dak didn't receive the first highest contract at the quarterback in history. There have been other highest paid qbs before Dak and there will be other highest paid qbs after Dak that won't be the best quarterback in the league.

Of course I knew you weren't going to show me anything, because if you did, your lil narrative would die quickly. To conclude, only you believe Murray and Herbert is in Dak's quarterback group.

I like Dak, he's a good QB, maybe redemption is too strong a word. But time is running out if he wants to get that monkey off his back and show he can deliver in the playoffs.

This is true but the rest of the team also needs to elevate their games in the playoffs. If it was just Dak playing poorly in the playoffs it could be overcome in many cases.

People love to spin the narrative that Dak gets "deer in the headlights" syndrome come January while ignoring the fact the rest of the team does the same.

Blame the Jones Boys for paying Dak that kind of money. They knew what Dak was both times they paid him. Support Dak or not, how many of us would have turned down the kind of money being offered if they were in Prescott's shoes?

I don't know why so many fans are under the delusion that more money turns a player into something he's not. Of course it DOES serve as a built-in crutch to support a narrative.

I agree with you but the reality is the biggest light is directed towards the QB. It's a team sport for sure but the QB far and away gets most of the attention.

Agreed. Quarterbacks and coaches are the only people that get wins and losses assigned to them. For obvious reasons. But it doesn't always tell the whole story.

Im not sure what will happen for Dak, but Stafford's record wasn't 6-2, the Rams record was 6-2.

Stafford is an excellent quarterback, no question but the year the Rams won the Superbowl, Stafford led the league in interceptions.

Now if we insist on attaching team records to the quarterback alone, then we can't ignore the fact that Stafford has a record of 17-75 or something like that vs winning teams during his career.

Now when do we decide if it's a quarterback record or team record? We can't split the two up for convenience.

When it comes to fan respect, I think it's true. Whether fair or not, fans hold playoff success or the lack thereof against the QB.

I was a big fan of Romo as our quarterback, but I know there are plenty here who don't think he was as good as his numbers show because of the lack of playoff success. They think he wasn't clutch. They don't respect him because of the team's failure.

I think it will be the same with Dak (and currently is). The only way to shut them up is to win a Super Bowl.

Now, I don't think there is a lack of respect for either QB among GMs and executives. I think coaches and most players also know how good they are. They understand there is more to winning than who's behind center.

The same people who defend Dak call Romo a choker.

Yeah most fans don’t have the cognitive ability to look at all factors involved in getting to the playoffs. They fact they blame in on one person is proof. And many of those fans get all their takes from the likes of SAS, and other talking heads getting PAID to create controversy. What better way than talk about the Dallas Cowboys. Ignorant fans eat it up because it plays to the inner desire, one they’ll deny, to be negative about everything.

And that goes for the people who try and claim a QB can't be the reason a team loses.
