Your biggest reason for optimism

If all that happens, we still have Dak.

Im still not sold on him come the playoffs. But is there a chance???

How 'bout them Cowboys!!!
I’m not concerned with Dak if we have a top 10 defense.

Realistically? I don’t expect a top 10 defense and yes I’m concerned with Dak.

Yeah, we're likely one more offseason away from top 10. At least we're now headed in the right direction.
I agree.i think they are headed in the right direction. I think youth is on their side with guys like Eze and Lawrence on the edge. Secondary looks promising. If Bland can get back to himself? Man….

I think the two games where he really struggled against the 49ers defense really taints the overall view of his playoff performances.

He’s played quite well in other playoff games.
As ar as stats go? Yes. His performance and decision making throughout the course of the game hinders the team. It is what it is. We would have to critique the games together minute by minute to come to a mutual understanding

I have been highly critical of him because of what I have seen from him over his career. For his 1st 7 years I had no faith in him but hoped in a dual personality type of way that he would put the team on his back and win

To this date it hasn't happened. So I am done with the prehype. Although I love this team and I love the direction they are going. It will be a fun year to watch

But Dak once again will fall flat on his face, rinse, repeat. He may even have amazing stats and other aspects of the team will be blamed.

Dak will not put the team on his back. The Cowboys will be 1 and done again

I'll admit to being somewhat more hopeful than optimistic.
An impressive record would likely help that improve.

This guy should have destroyed ANY optimism that any Cowboys fan might have......

Sums it up for me. Until we get an actual front office separate from the Jones circus in charge of player personnel, drafting, free agency, etc, we will forever be stuck in no man's land.

I agree with you at this point in the 2026 season. But there’s a lot that can happen with injuries, trades, etc. Every year there are surprise losers and surprise winners. Parity is good for ownership as it generates more interest so they architect the schedule to maximize competitive games. All that generates $$$ so it’s a win win actually from a financial standpoint.

I think Bland is done. However, we do have a very talented by raw Revel, and a CB who screams top 10 in Moore. If he can stay on the field. Gawd I hate drafting yet more injury prone players.

Right on Stash. I mean it’s just common sense.
Here's some more common sense for you. In the 1st half, D made a stop. Unbelievable, but they did. Dak follows it up w/ a pick 6. Here's some more common sense. The D didn't give up all those points.

Might be happening as we speak. This offseason screams that Jerry wasn't doing it. Way too many moves that made sense, including getting competent S's and DT's. Jerry has historically ignored those positions.

Don’t forget Cobie Durant.

Worst defense in the NFL with arguably the best offense in the NFL and you end up 7-9. They were luck to get 7 wins and that was all offense. But keep your head stuck in the sand listening to the SAS types.
