What was your most exciting win as a Cowboys fan?

Easy choice for me… 1992 NFC Championship Game in the mud at Candlestick Park.

Nobody thought that the upstart Cowboys - the youngest team in the NFL - would go to San Francisco and beat the mighty Forty Niners.

In part it was so sweet because of 1989. The Cowboys had hit rock bottom that year, winning just one game all season (suck it Commanders). They were the laughingstock of the league and people were saying a college coach would never win.

To go from that to a dominant dynasty was as sweet as it could get, and for me the pinnacle of that turnaround was the ‘92 NFCCG. I knew if Dallas won at Candlestick, they were going to win the Super Bowl.

I think it was sweetest for many of the players too. The one’s who had suffered through that ‘89 season and felt both the pain of humiliation as well as the pain of Jimmy’s training camps in ‘90, ‘91 and ‘92.

Those guys went through hell and to arrive at the top of their sport as a championship dynasty made it mean so much to them… just like it did us fans.

I was mentioning my most exciting game but also mentioning my single most exciting play.

Two different games

I realize that now.... your comment confused me a bit because it was in reply to super bowl 27.

My bad

December 23rd 1972 candlestick Park against the hated 49ers.

One of Roger Staubach's most heroic performances bringing the Cowboys back in the fourth quarter throwing touchdown passes to Billy parks and Ron sellers to win the game.

Super Bowl VI was a couple years before my fanhood began.
I began in the 74-75 season. So SB XII was my personal best feeling as a fan. Having endured that SB X loss to the Steelers, it was a relief for me to finally get that championship feeling as a fan. But then to lose to the Steelers again the next year following the SBXII victory pissed me off all over again.

I swear if they had at least split those 2 Super Bowls with the Steelers I'll bet more of those 70s era Cowboy players are in the Hall of Fame today.
Others have made these past same comments. I agree with them.

I was very glad to finally beat the Steelers in SB XXX too.

I remember the Dallas vs Washington comeback from behind game and overall Dallas win in OT Aikman to Rocket Ismail 76 yard bomb! I had Commander fans calling me talkin so much ish then SILENCE!!!!!!!!!
