Romo on pardon my take about not winning a Superbowl

Who would have thought a rookie 4th-rounder would play so well during his injury that he would lose his job? I have said before, A HEALTHY TONY ROMO was better than a rookie Dak Prescott; healthy is the key word.
The way he manipulated defenses and changed plays at the line of scrimmage was Peyton Manning-esque. Like having a coach on the field. That’s the biggest difference with him and Dak.

Made me really happy that Romo went out with one last long drive and TD pass in week 17 that year. Special moment.

Romo was the reason we rallied and were in position to win. Jason Witten scored but replay overturned it (a correct call). Romo fumbled the snap and yes, if the defense forces a 3-and-out, then we still have time for one last possession, albeit with little time left but enough to try a few plays. Again our defense simply can't make the critical stops in the playoffs when it absolutely matters.

That game like all other playoff losses the past 30 seasons are 100% on the idiot owner who hired an idiot for a GM.
Owner didn't fumble a basic snap and get tackled short of the endzone.

But the owner is also the GM and therefore is ultimately responsible for the rosters and the 30 year and counting conf championship draught.

Parcels gets some blame for having his starting QB in the game as the FG holder, but I suspect Romo's ego was already out of control and this was Parcels way of injecting a dose of humility into his QB.

And again, IF our defense makes a stop after the fumbled snap, we would have still had time to win.

Jerry Jones should always be held to the exact same standard as an NFL general manager as other general managers in the league. Doing so does not alter the fact he is also the owner of an NFL franchise. That does not matter whatsoever. He is not an exception overseeing the football operations responsibilities he appointed to himself.

The entire team choked. I was there on final interception totally disgusted.

After most of 4 decades was last game I attended at Texas Stadium giving up my season tickets.
I get it. I came to the realization about the time that Jerry was incapable of building a championship team on both sides of the ball. I will argue that not having a real NFL head coach with the power to fire players remains one of the biggest reasons we have a 30 yr draught streak. It is also problematic to have a hc with no power on the sidelines because no player respects their authority because all power is centralized in Jerry.

I know we are on the same page and no one should place blame anywhere but the GM, who is always the fall guy when a deep playoff run is not achieved in their tenure. Everywhere, that is but Dallas.

Yep, everyone but the guy who actually bobbled. Incredible!

As much as I despise we didn't keep him in....you're right. One last moment to remind us that yes...he was a ....gosh darn...good QB. Despite what his hat-...er...critics say.

Of course. Ultimately the blame does fall at Jethro’s feet this entire era.

But despite his dysfunctional stranglehold on Cowboys Football we have had some slight windows to advance further.

Yes , but he had a couple windows of opportunity to advance further despite our dysfunctional ownership , puppetry coaching and lack of an Elite defense. Similar to this era and current QB.

I agree...tony romo had a couple windows. But Dez not just catching the ball and Murray fumbling....is also totally his fault.

Madness.

He had been holder since before he was named starting QB and they didn’t want to switch to a new holder midseason, which makes some sense.

But it was never gonna happen because no team can make a deep playoff run with the Jerry method of football management. I don't to make a deep playoff run until the Jones sell the team, which ain't happening.

Assuming that's true it still doesn't excuse anyone else's contribution.

Probably not. The odds are definitely stacked heavily against us but I’m not one to say never. I’ll leave that to the Trolls and Crystal balls.

The right circumstances and talent or QB with a huge game or moment for example could overcome.

We’ve been close enough on a couple occasions to advance further even if it isn’t all the way despite our enormous obstacle of an ownership.

I would love to see us return to the NFC Championship game, but the Jones boys have no idea on how to build a winner on both sides of the ball. They sign players to bad contracts (Miles Austin, 'Lil Jake Ferguson, Zeke Elliot, setting the QB market with Dak, etc. And the Jones boys aren't great at signing bang-for-the-buck backup players and the teams making deep playoff runs have better backups than we do. Next man up is bad in Dallas. The Jones boys are more concerned with saving money than winning championships, thus 30 years and counting with no end in sight. And we signed a chump for backup QB.

I totally agree.

But they have been closer on a few occasions than you’d think given the dysfunctional situation . So, it’s not that far of a stretch that the ball could eventually bounce their way in one of those close playoff games.

Remember when the Rams went all in to win their SB? And how they were going to suck afterwards? The Joneses are too concerned with tomorrow to win today.
