News: Fox: Tony Romo arrested in Milwaukee for OWI

Romo has a $100M broadcasting contract, and he's still sneaking shooters onto the golf course, lol. One of us.

Dude doesn't look like he drank squat in those videos, though.
really? sounded like there was enough there to suspect drinking and that is obviously without the smell of alcohol and such. I expect to be seeing CBS drop him soon

Follow him to Grandma’s house.

He wasn’t trashed. He answered her questions and was respectful. He wasn’t falling all over. Completely sober I would have trouble doing the tests. He has a screwed up back. I wouldn’t expect him to be able to do it perfectly.
LOL....are you serious?????

Officers have protocols to follow laws, policies and procedures regarding traffic stops........

MILWAUKEE - Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested in Milwaukee on Thursday night, July 23 for OWI, first offense.
This issue will never EVER end. While people scream to ban guns, it is alcohol that does so much more harm and killing of people through car accidents. We are told repeatedly, NOT TO DRINK & DRIVE but people continually ignore this and think they are above the law. So when they get pulled over, "celebrities/people of name status" try to, like the Race Card, pull out their Status Card. When it doesn't work, they get upset. Hopefully, they don't get into a car accident risking harm and property to the innocent person.
If they happen to kill someone, while drunk driving, they cry that they are so sorry then "lawyer up" to protect themselves from the law. The person they killed is dead but the drunk driver wants protection/mercy. All along, knowing they should not have been driving drunk.
Sorry, Tony you need your license revoked for years at minimum. And another example NOT to glory any person because they / all ( yes me also) fall short. Thankfully, Romo didn't hurt anyone and yes, he shall be forgiven but their needs to be consequences.

That's fine, but from an officer's perspective, any refusal of a test ( alcohol or drug ) when they see probable cause is going to get you arrested......plain and simple and it should IMO. They can't take a chance allowing someone to continue driving if some physical evidence suggests that he/sh is impaired, especially if they are refusing to take a test to prove their innocence.
The officer is supposed to be able to judge whether someone is impaired by alcohol. I don’t drink but I’ve sat across from someone who’s had one beer and he smells like alcohol to me even though that’s all he’s had because the stench is strong. And women have a greater olfactory sense than men. I don’t see anything in this video that suggests Tony is under the influence. A person’s skin being red and having his eyes subjectively glossed over is symptomatic to dozens of things one of which is just a result of being pasty white and playing a golf tournament in the summer sun for several hours. And the fact that lawyers and others as a general recommendation have told him to not take any of these tests means that they can be used against him regardless if he has drank any amount of alcohol. I remember when I was a kid my father got pulled over at night because he was swerving a little bit and crossed the median line a few times and the cop thought he was possibly intoxicated. But when my father told him he didn’t drink and showed no real signs of being so, he just told him to drive more carefully and let him go.

Felicia Lee from the CBS Texas Assignment Desk said:

Tony cannot follow the simple instruction to not move his head. She must have repeated that request 4 or 5 times. Tony's short term memory is impaired, whether from, alcohol, or pain meds, or CTE, I do not know. Also, Tony could not wait for the officer to give the instructions before beginning. He thought he would get to practice the leg stand before doing the leg stand. He thought he could interrupt the officer many times, instead of just listening and then doing. Also, the officer did not ask Tony that once he began the leg stand, to tell her whatever thoughts were coming into his head, and to tell her about his daily workout habits, she was not asking for a conversation.

Dude nailed a 20 second one leg stand.

He ain’t drunk.

Not a good look for the cops.

Ridiculous.

Dude isn’t drunk.

Speech isn’t slurred. He’s doing back stretches and one leg stands.

Coordination is excellent.

Someone gonna get sued.
What are you talking about when you don't know all the details? Sounds like he was driving dangerously. When she pulled him over, she must have smelled booze on him, and he immediately wanted to call his lawyer for advice on what to do. He then refused to take the test, and you don't need to be stumbling and slurring words to be considered intoxicated. What a ridiculous take, and to suggest he will sue LOLOL. Good lord...

To take a potential drunk driver off the road is ridiculous? What if she lets it go, and he kills somebody? You guys in here kill me, and clearly have not expeirence with witnessing horrific drink driving incidents

I'm all for getting drunk drivers off the road. However, I do not think, from the videos that I've seen, that Romo was actually drunk.

Can you point out to me where Romo pulled out the status card or race card? He never raised his voice, got mad, or did anything of that nature.

Why should he get a sentence of his license revoked for years? That isn't the punishment in the state of Wisconsin. He should be treated more harshly than the law provides?

It's called suspicion of OWI. Was it evident he was drunk? Hell no, it wasn't like he was swerving all over the place or did the Tiger and flipped his Genesis into a ditch. Cops have multiple tools to suspect someone is possibly drunk, and in her mind, she has just cause to determine if he was. I don't think he was targeted; probably no license plate with IAM ROMO on the back of his what looks to be a Bronco. He seemed to be cordial and didn't look wasted, but in the end, was he concealing shooters? Drive safely, and don't give the cops a reason to pull you over, and none of this happens....now, if there is an alcohol issue in Tony's life, this could be a good thing for him and his family. If it's a one-off, I hope his career isn't damaged because of it.

Just watched the first two minutes of the full body cam video posted above. Interesting that the reason he was pulled over is for "unsafe passing on the right" and at the very same time he is being told that pretty much every car that went by in the background was passing someone on the right.

This cop is giving off the power trip vibe in a big way.

And what's up with the loudspeaker routine? How they heck do you expect someone to hear that while at speed on a busy freeway?

You don't know any more of the details but you want to crucify the dude. He apparently passed a car improperly....hardly sounds like he was a menace on the road. At the start, neither one of them could hear each other clearly due to the noise on the roadway. He was polite, answered all her questions, cooperated with field tests. Lawyers always tell you not to do the breathalyzer because it is a faulty test. I am willing to bet that the case gets dismissed. Nothing in the video suggests he was impaired. And one beer will you put alcohol on your breath....doesn't make you impaired.

I agree with you Rusty after looking at the video three times he really didn't appear drunk.

I even had my Irish buddies look at the video and they are downright experts at driving drunk have been doing it for over 40 years and never had a problem either of them not saying I agree with it at all and have told them many times it's a bad idea.

But these guys said he looked like he was ready for American gladiators compared to the way they have driven at times.

That said those guys never got pulled over because they always drove very conservatively and were very lucky.

Tony got pulled over and then the whole pack of hounds started to compile evidence against him he wasn't rude arrogant was very compliant he did not play the celebrity card whatsoever.

He behaved like a model suspect if I ever saw one.

That said it was still a very bad look for him and for CBS and I hope he doesn't lose his job over it but it sure wouldn't surprise me in the least if they canned him

I thought I heard that blood tests were ordered . I guess then we'll know for sure. Couldn't really tell if was drunk or not in that video. He was very polite during the whole thing.

Don’t care to learn the facts before making a judgement huh.

 Huh.....here's the affidavit. How in the world is this profiling?

The affidavit we got our hands on this afternoon says a deputy saw him driving erratically before pulling him over. The deputy wrote that she smelled a strong alcohol odor coming from him and noticed his eyes were red and glossy. She said when she got him out of the car, he had a hard time balancing and didn't perform well on the field sobriety test. Investigators say Romo initially told him he hadn't been drinking but later admitted to having one corona. He turned down the breathalyzer test, they say, but a judge later ordered a warrant for a blood test.
I respect all law enforcement and first responders. But...they never lie or get things wrong, right?
