Where we might disagree is on the team aspect involved here. I wouldn't think it appropriate to make boastful insinuations that would bring that scrutiny to my teammates.

There is something to it saying publically. However...I believe these pro athletes should have inherent hard-coded motivation already.

Great point. These guys are getting paid to win. It should go without saying.

I don't want to see the surgeon practicing positive affirmation techniques as the anesthesia kicks in. I want to see calm quiet confidence.

Until then, I will continue believing he was not trolling. Regardless, Dak Prescott could not care less what one person thinks of his trolling or non-trolling public comments. Or at least I think he seriously should not care in my opinon.

Agreed BUT a hypothetical act of trolling would mean he does care. I am not saying he cannot troll for whatever circumstance. He can do what he wants and shall do whatever he wants. I am saying that particular action would have been motivated by what he felt needed a reaction from whomever his message was targeting.

I didn't make the original comparison, mind you, so don't blame that on me. I was saying the general vibe I got back then was that people would have been less surprised about that mavericks team winning a championship than people would be if the Cowboys win one this year. I pointed out that, the mavericks of back then, that the poster I was responding to had a better record in the playoff being led by Dirk than the current cowboys that are led by Dak. That's just a plain win/loss ratio fact.

And yes, anything can happen in the NFL, But the cowboys are a badly run organization, with a bad owner/general manager, puppet coaches, no on the field leadership, which is part of the reason it would be all the more shocking if they would win a super bowl this year, without there being any prior improvements in those areas they lacked the previous years.

There are a lot less homers in the actual Metroplex area than there are on this forum. Or local sports talk is not filled with such Homerism as I see here. I do see posts by fans on here that will make me facepalm, and think, yup thats why other fan bases make fun of us.
