Because life is not a soap opera. Companies have employee conduct policies. Standard employee policies stipulate what actions will be enforced for conduct both on and off the job, especially if an employee's conduct involves legal issues.
The employee has the legal recourse to dispute their decision directly with their company or through external legal means. A multi-millionaire like Tony Romo certainly has the resources for legal representation. Heck. He was attempting to call his attorney during the traffic stop for the tiny bit I have viewed thus far.
What does not normally happen is for a complete outsider to interfere with the process. That would be a situation akin to unnecessary television-style drama. What you would prefer is for Jerry Jones to bully his way into CBS' business and exert ill-advised and unnecessary pressure.
Worse, CBS should not allow itself to be seen showing favoritism for one employee that they would not extend to another employee WITHOUT Romo's fame and fortune ties. That would be a sad precedent to set. This is not an episode of Matlock, where Jones arrives at the last second and saves Kathy Bates' case. CBS should decide what to do or not do with Romo. They require zero help from Jones to do something they have done for 90-plus years. Jones is not that special.
I completely understand both sides and I didn't say Jerry should get involved but the problem here is you could say you have legal problems, Yes he's in a big corporation which by the way I don't know many corporations that for this offense would even think about firing an employee How about this they wouldn't even know about it, So many people have been in a similar situation like I said this is a very low end misdemeanor at best and it probably will get dropped maybe for lack of evidence why do you think they call it suspicion of a WI because they don't have proof and I promise you a field sobriety test does not hold up in court It is subjective at best and I've been put through the ringer with it before i've been falsely arrested with 0.0 blood alcohol level no drugs no nothing and yet I was arrested for failing alleged my eyes twittered My pupils couldn't stay by themselves looking at them so they considered me drunk enough to take the jail now should I be fired for that? It Took freaking 90 days for the blood test to come back These labs are really slow when they need to be...
So for this situation yes, I am on Romo's side he should definitely not fired I understand where you coming from but again this is not the type of legal issue It involves nothing that was Violet there were no injuries there were no young people in the car there was absolutely nothing other than A suspicion of possible drinking while operating a motor vehicle that is it.
See him on leave for how long if it takes the lab too long for the blood test or if they don't have enough evidence but they drag it out trying to workout a deal and it never goes to court..
Most normal people yes with corporate jobs big corporate jobs do not find out about this stuff because it usually doesn't make the news and it definitely doesn't make its way around social media to a point where it catches so much fire that people are even making up stories about what they saw and heard..
I realize he's a face on TV but I could promise you there's been plenty of people who work for networks that have had ADUI that have not got fired So if it's your front person that's actually on TV a lot you you would consider firing them if you're ESPN just because he's the face of your Sports Network but if you have a lower in person that works in your division and they get ADUI But it's OK they're not gonna fire you because they don't have to worry about the backlash from public the court of public opinion needs to stay out of it...
I'm not saying that Jerry should get involved with this I get that's what the threads about i'm just saying overall he shouldn't have to just like Ezekiel Elliott should not have got suspended Jerry should have never had to go to his defense They were wrong and you know it he should not have been suspended the investigation came up with nothing and he was suspended for six days which going back all the way back to 2017 and looking at some of these other guys who have done worse have got less suspensions..

Just betting and I know this is long because I'm ranting and you don't have to read it but I just think it's unfair the way people are treated when you're suspected of something and yet you're already put on leave before a single shed of evidence comes, Rest is not evidence an arrest but subjectively accusing someone from a subjective test does not make him guilty he should not even be on leave right now in my opinion..
