Fant torn ACL

In a backwards way this can help Fant's Cowboys future. There really wasn't a spot for him on the 53 this year. This team seems reluctant to give up on Schoonmaker.

But Schoon is in his walk season so a healthy Fant could make the active roster in 2027 assuming a full recovery.
Feel bad for Fant, but lot of competition for that backup spot so you're right. Probably keeps Schoon safe for now.

He went from being cut with no pay to getting paid till he’s fully recovered. In a weird way worked out good for him

Your 2026 Dallas Cowboys tight ends:
-Jake Ferguson (starter)
- Brevyn Spann-Ford #2(passed Schoon for the #2)
-Luke Schoonmaker(on the bubble, do we carry 4 TE's?)

- DJ Rogers(rising star, more complete thanTrigg, nice talent)

-Michael Trigg (could be active some gamedays but needs work on the position, he's a giant WR)

With Fant's injury the door is open for Trigg but right now his game is as a recieving threat. This is a run first team ( Klayton Adams) with one of the best pass games in The League. It makes for some very interesting decisions. I'm intrigued by Trigg but this could just be training camp fluff(any news hyping Trigg).
