I would want every starter on my team to feel that way. People who want to win think that way. People with a loser's mentality would criticize because they can't grasp the attitude of people who want to win and believe in themselves.

Do all players need confidence that they can compete? Yes. Do they need to think they are the best in the league when they clearly aren't? No.

Another example of Dak's philosophy that if you believe it, it will happen. He clearly has elevated that this season. Possibly because BS shares it and they both are committed to bringing that to the team.

It's a fine line between self-confidence and delusion though. He feels that every QB should feel that way or else they don't belong in the league. Really? That just doesn't make sense on multiple levels.

Having self-confidence is a good thing, obviously. Projecting extreme self confidence in an effort to boost your self-confidence when reality clearly says different is weak.

Wow. Well respectfully, that's about the dumbest thing I've heard. So you like delusional players.

He (Darnold) doesn't feel that way. He, like all the others know Patrick is currently the best until something changes. When all these other QB's talk, they don't say I'm the best. They often talk about other players as being elite at this or that and how they couldn't make those plays. Brady, even though most believe he's the GOAT and rightfully so, talks about how other QB's had skills, abilities he didn't. I don't recall him ever saying he was the best. He says he always kept trying to find ways to be better and overcoming his physical limitations with the mental side of the game. Let's the results speak for him.
