Did Dak say he is the best QB 2026? Plus, what is his true motivation!

Wow. Well respectfully, that's about the dumbest thing I've heard. So you like delusional players.

He (Darnold) doesn't feel that way. He, like all the others know Patrick is currently the best until something changes. When all these other QB's talk, they don't say I'm the best. They often talk about other players as being elite at this or that and how they couldn't make those plays. Brady, even though most believe he's the GOAT and rightfully so, talks about how other QB's had skills, abilities he didn't. I don't recall him ever saying he was the best. He says he always kept trying to find ways to be better and overcoming his physical limitations with the mental side of the game. Let's the results speak for him.
As a competitor or a player you are suppose to think they are the best. You don't know what Darnold thinks lol. The hell?

Jalen Hurts has gone toe to toe in the SB TWICE and has outplayed Mahomes twice. He's not going into those games thinking "Oh shucks how am I gonna compete? I'm inferior to Mahomes".....I get you fans engage in this type of banter and you may go into thinking you are inferior to the next man but there's no way you can expect players to think his. They are suppose to think they are the best player on that field and if they don't I don't want them on my team.

Richard Sherman talked more crap than anyone. Flat out said he was the best cornerback in the league. People laughed at him for it. He was never as good as Nnamdi or Revis but he for sure got the hardware they didn't.

Nah, I'd like mine to be realistic about his skills. Especially at contract time.

Do all players need confidence that they can compete? Yes. Do they need to think they are the best in the league when they clearly aren't? No.
Is every player who got the highest contract in history in their specific positions the best players in the positions? Last time i checked, thats not the case.

I don't mind Dak or any other player on the Cowboys believing in themselves to be the best. Its not like Dak doubled down proclaiming to be the best quarterback hands down. We all know he's not but I love the mindset from our players.

Funny, but I don't recall Tom Brady having to suggest every training camp that he's the best. He just went out there and let his play speak for itself.

Thats cool. Ive never heard of any quarterback going around just saying they were the best. Now I wonder what Tom Brady would have said if he were asked that question while he was playing.

Usually players and coaches respond to the questions asked by reporters.

Quick question though.... Dak has said he was the best every training camp? I don't recall Dak having to suggest every training camp that he's the best, maybe ive missed those comments every camp.

You have a link or something I can go back and see those previous interviews every camp?

I know that he doesn't talk about himself vs his peers. "Sam Darnold has consistently deflected personal "best QB" labels, instead emphasizing a team-first mindset and stating that he simply focuses on doing his best every day to lead his team." So yeah, I do know what he thinks.

I very specifically said it was fine to feel like they could compete. Hurts doing that doesn't in any way mean that he thinks he is Patrick's equal.

Sherman is an egotistical player. Exactly the type player who is delusional about his own talent. He was lucky enough to play on "teams" that got hardware. Revis would have got ring on that team as well while "actually" being the best CB in the league.

Vast majority of the league understands their place in the pecking order. I know Joe Burrow publicly said Mahomes was the best. If Joe, as an elite tier 1, knows, there isn't any reason 2nd & 3rd tier QB's to even be mentioning it.

Fans should have no problem with Dak saying, or believing he is #1. There's nothing wrong with that. He's got to go out there and wear that target. Hoepfully for him and the Cowboys his play can cash the check his mouth is writing.

You have no idea what he thinks you can say you know what he says to the media but you can't say you know what he thinks. Sherman was a great corner I don't know what you;'re suggesting here lol. Not better than Revis but he felt he was and he showed up more times than not.

You guys get up in arms over some of the most BS lol....and it's only because Dak says it.

You bringing up Burrow means nothing. Probably explains why he can't stay healthy or even make the playoffs these days. It's also consistent with his interview where he sounded defeated last year.

It's one thing to think you are the best at something, but it's another to come right out and say that you are. Patty can say it, because, well, he is/was. I don't think you will hear Josh, Lamar, Sam or others say they are the best, as they tend to take the humble approach. I think Dak added that if he doesn't think he's the best, he would retire? I admire the confidence, but the "I 100% believe I am one of the best QB's in the league", would be a more admirable approach in the minds of many. Then add, "if I want to be considered the best in the league, I need to lead my team to a Championship." No, a QB cannot do this alone, but it is the measuring stick and comes with the territory

Because TB12 is the GOAT, right? He just didn't come out to say it until he got into the Netflix Roast of Tom Brady stage of his life, etc, and started showing off the jewels
He's always been smug and arrogant to me but I don't know if he did or didn't. But him saying he's the goat has no bearings on Dak. He's retired lol

Half of the defensive coaches polled in the Athletic (which that link talks about at about 6:00-7:00) name Dak as a tier 1 QB..... the biggest disparity between offensive and defensive coaches' votes besides Tua:

Well, I haven't mentioned Dak anwwhere in this thread. I haven't gotten up in arms about anything. I have refuted your attempts to normalize everyone believing they are the best at their job is ok.

All these posts of yours sounds like a lot of deflection.
