So here's how I see things:

Tier 1 is currently agreed upon mostly as Mahomes, Allen, Stafford, and Burrow. It's hard for Dak to dent the positions that Mahomes, Allen, and Stafford hold. All 3 have MVPs and 2 out of 3 has a Super Bowl. The only one of those without a Super Bowl has been in the playoffs for 7 straight years.

However, if Dak has a banner year (upwards 39+++ Touchdowns) - and if some of his counterparts have a bad year, spot #4 is not totally firm. It can move around fast, and Dak is a threat to take it.

Right now Dak is in Tier 2...... #5-8 with Lamar, Goff, and Herbert. Guys who are very good at what they do but not consistently so. And they go on and off with making the playoffs. Sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Only 10 playoff wins combined among the 4 for an average of 2.5 playoff wins per each of those QBs.

IMO, what really separates the top guys is their ability to make or extend plays with their feet. Then you have the super fast processors like Stafford and Burrow. Dak just doesn't have it to be in those groups. After that, there are a lot of good QB's who can win and look good with good players around them. I think Dak is firmly in this group. Few QB's can say that they have a Lamb/Pickens WR duo so Dak is going to look better on paper than many of them but its not some talent basis. IMO, if you swap someone like Jordan Love onto the Cowboys, I don't think the win total changes much.

To be honest, it would not surprise me if Stafford and/or Burrow struggle a bit this season.

*** Burrow can't seem to stay healthy but he's elite WHEN he plays
*** Could this be the year age catches up with Stafford....... The Rams used a 1st-round pick to draft a QB for a reason.

No offense, but nobody really cares about what tier Dak is in

In order for dak to move up a tier he’s going to have to win when it matters. Thats all anybody cares about anyways. Go win a Super Bowl and the rest will take care of itself.
I'm not even asking Dak to win the Super Bowl. I just want him to get us to the Super Bowl. We haven't been there in so long let alone win it.

Like you said, your opinion.

He’s been trying to and doing his part. When they’ve had a decent defense, they’ve had no running game or only 1 good WR. This isn’t tennis.
