Guyton looks good

Possibly work Shelton to take over for him as soon as 2027?

Would not doubt they draft an OL then in 2027, maybe a 3rd round pick, to use as a swing tackle then.
If that is what they want from Shelton this season.

Just throwing something out there to get opinions.
My question is on a different player... Is Steele looking good enough for 2026 or do they attempt to replace him before the season? Early reports don't sound great.

He is probably doing better than the reports.
Remember it is from the media and fans. Who always do not know what is really going on.

A player has a few bad plays, they suck, they have a few good plays and they are an all pro.

Lol. Yep, Steele's getting cut.

Lol. Week 1 let's see him do it. Let's see him stay healthy. Let's see him avoid the drive killing false start. He has a ton to prove.

Hope so.

Jerry never signed/drafted a legit LT to challenge Guyton.

Because Guyton would have lost.

Steele seems to be “better” at run blocking.

He’s a product of Jerry’s ego and reluctance to admit a mistake.

That contract is ridiculous.

Embarrassing.

Yes it was a bad contract, but aren't most of them bad anyway.
He was always better at run blocking and pass protection.

All I am saying is, is he really as bad as some fans think. Probably not. But yet that narrative is true for some players.
As someone keeps repeating it over and over and over, just because they do not like the player for whatever reason.
Then the sheep follow.

I think he needs reps, but they can’t even afford to risk injury to a question mark.

I got scared even more when Jerry said he looked good.

He was told if he doesn't improve this year, the Tyler Trifecta becomes a Tyler Duo.

Guyton is NOT Mazi. There is still a hope and prayer for this young man. And yes, not to borrow the Landry/Parcells mantra, but the year three tag fits perfect.

Tyler Smith must be threatening him in the huddle. "You better get your butt in gear and stop playing Call of Duty all night in the hotel! Master your technique and watch more film, I ain't moving to your spot for half the money!"
