Positives and negatives from this game vs Seattle?

Malik Davis always seems to play well. Unfortunately for him; I think we bring in someone else.

I don't. I think he is one of the three backs we keep BUT we'll probably use Blue due to the speed element he brings unless he just shows he can't get through the line to use that speed. Davis is more similar to Williams as a between-the-tackles runner even though he doesn't have as much size. He's got good awareness for when to make a cut and good ability to fight through arm tackles.

I think I like our defence so far....it's not great, but I liked it so far. Plenty of work to do, and it's one preseason game, but that goal line stand was beautiful! We wouldn't have done that the last two years, much less under Eberflus.

The Seattle announcer was saying we were in the Bears front (5-2) on that goal-line stand. They did a nice job with it whether Seattle tried to run outside or inside, then got the pressure and the sack. I loved that series.

I think that Davis could very well make the team. Overall our backup running backs are solid.

It is not great because we don't have our starters playing and lot of people in the 4th quarter are not going to make the team. We are running a 3-4 multiple now. 3-4 is the base but like it was said he ran a 5-2 on the goal line. That is the muliple part. It is why you think its not great but liked it. Wait till the starters get in. Promise you it will look much different then last year.

I think this game was a lot closer than people realize. Missed fg and multiple 4th downs not converted and a TD called back. Gotta give kudos to the defense but if Seattle just took the points we handed them, the game would’ve been really close.

I’m on team Milton. Same arm and athlete as last year, but he’s making a lot better decisions. That’s enough to tell me he’s worth investing in long term.

Oh I don't doubt it, and I love the improvement. And I get that most of the starters didn't play. But yeah, I'm just trying to keep my hoof as firmly on the brakes as possible so that I don't overreact haha.

Didn't have any positives really to overcome the negative. In fact, he really made a poor choice on another return by fielding the ball inside the 5. He just had a decent return on that one, but it was erased by a penalty. I know you are trying to make the team, but part of that is making good decisions when you are out there.

He had one really nice pass rush and I didn't see him being a liability against the run in the snaps I saw. But I missed part of the first part of the game.

I appreciate that haha. I don't like having to find out if they can do a goal line stand or not haha. But at least we now know they are capable from a preseason game haha. That's a good thing I suppose. And I love that we forced 4th down stops.

I agree, and I'm all for Von for a one year deal. The amount of knowledge that Lawrence could learn would be amazing. And I think we have our ready made camp cut to be able to make room for Von in Holden.

Definitely, that was one you just let into the end zone. But, with Von Miller having interest in playing for us, I think we might do well to let Holden go and not waste anymore of his time, and bring in Von Miller.

I am going to say I have no negatives. I am going to reserve that for the coaching staff. Largest postive was the coaching so lets see how that staff handles the negatives in next weeks depth chart.
