OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys have agreed to terms with veteran outside linebacker Von Miller, bringing one of the NFL's most decorated pass rushers to Dallas.

Miller, 37, is a native of Desoto, Texas, located just 30 minutes away from AT&T Stadium. Now, going into his 15th NFL season, he'll get to suit up for his hometown team.

Earlier in the offseason, Miller posted an image of himself photoshopped in a Cowboys uniform on Instagram among other social media posts that indicated his interest in heading to Dallas. That has now been fulfilled.

What's next, are they going to dig up Vince Lombardi's corpse and have him mentor Schotty?

Not to pick on the guy because he's still much younger than me, but most pass rushers are done by age 32. Miller is 37.

And LeBron is 79 but is still playing, man let's be happy just for something ya know! We know he's old, but this old dog can teach these young guys some tricks! It's a win situation!

I don’t hate the move. He will be a nice rotational player and he can mentor the youngins
Very well said and I 100% agree. I think if push came to shove, he can handle ever snap however I don't want him to do that. I (personally) think rotating him in here and there and be a mentor for his fellow players would be perfect. I think his presence alone in the locker room is going to speak volumes.... I'm actually excited about this move.

Let’s not talk about LeBron.
I’m a Rockets fan and I’m still devastated what he did to us in the first round this year. I just knew we had that series and had the nerve to buy tickets for a playoff game. I’m still sick.

Good morning to you, Mr. Negative (lol)

He had 9 sacks last season, the most of his career since 2021, when he was 32 (lol)

Be happy we finally have a player who replaces some sacks and pressure we lost when Parsons was traded.

Cool.

Should still be decent on 3rd down. Maybe he can be the Ware like mentor to EZE and Law, similar how Ware helped him out over a decade ago.

If he sucks, no big deal, not like they gave him stupid money and term

Ok, many think maybe they saw something they didn't love about Malachi but I think it's more about Jayshaun Barhams hammy. They have big plans for him. But felt they needed an ace in the hole, insurance, a mentor by example. This move makes a lot of sense if you look at it this way. On the cheap I'll bet. This wasn't us adding that final SB piece, this was us saying, he checks all the boxes, and it made sense. Good part is, we will get him in there during camp. Unlike Clowney.

Also, if the young guys do what we think, then yes, von becomes house money. He's all gravy at that point. Then suddenly, if that offense does what we think, he becomes a luxury, a playoff final piece. I won't say sb because honestly, that's dumb. But can he give us some extra juice in spots to get us over the playoff hump? Maybe. Let's just keep him healthy. Needs to be on a pitch count. I'm warming up to the signing.

It’s a good low-risk move. If they’re betting on EZE and Malachi to be their edge rushers for the future, then Miller serves has a short-term bridge and mentor. He’s also not really an every-down player anymore, so it won’t take away any snaps.

Trading for Crosby would be more high-risk. Not only would it cost future draft picks to acquire him, but it would take away snaps from the young guys and it would be unlikely we’d retain the young guys for a second contract.

That doesn’t mean that trading for Crosby would be a bad move. We did the same when we acquired Q Williams. The difference with Q was we really had no young DTs we were developing.

Is this going to be our Charles Haley signing for the next dynasty?

I’m blindly going to drink the koolaid. It goes against my better judgement but I need something because I haven’t believed in the cowboys since 2018

I trust ML over EZE by far. That said, you nailed it. Good summary.
