6 highest-graded players for the Cowboys in Week 1 of the preseason via PFF

I’m surprised Houston is even playing. He was 2nd on the team with 5.5 sacks last year. He’s proven himself more than EZE and Malachi have.
I wasn't sure he would be because of that. Seems like his spot should be pretty secure. I would have been trying to get Malachi as many reps as possible.

Even if it doesn't mean much, good to see Revel and Lawrence being graded among our best in the battle of backups. Both players should have regular-season roles, with Revel possible starting at one of the outside corner spots. I'm glad we didn't hold him out, but at least gave him a few snaps.

This makes the Von Miller signing even more puzzling. I dont like the signing and he was bad last season.

This isn't even remotely true. He had more sacks (9) than most of the dudes on our team. At his age, that is fantastic. He's 1 away from being in the double digits. Goodness, I swear...
Did you actually watch his sacks? He wasnt exactly beating tackles, they were falling or completely missed assignments. We'd be lucky if he gets 6.

Houston is what he is.
A pass rush specialist who plays snaps when all he has to do is pin his ears back.
He has virtually no upside vs the run!

This shows we have some good young talent. They'll be even better with some mentoring by Von Miller. I know a few of you out there don't like the acquisition of Miller, but you don't see his true value of rubbing off on the young ones.

yeah, in one of his interviews he mentioned that specifically. how he’s concerted-ly a great teammate and mentor. i’d be all for it if that’s all he brought to the table, but knowing he’s still got juice makes it all the better

I didn’t realize James Houston had 8 sacks in 7 games as a rookie for Detroit. The he missed all but two games his sophomore season before being cut by Detroit and then by Cleveland in his third year. I’m not really sure why it fell apart so quickly for him, but I’m glad we got him.
