PFT: Troy Aikman calls out Jerry for a 30-year Super Bowl drought

Agree 100%.........it's no longer about blaming players and/or coaches. It has taken me a while to see it, but this is on Jerry 100%. At a very minimum, he should have a high-level assistant GM with some authority working under him and NO, not McClay. He is also part of the problem IMO.

Troy Aikman: Cowboys’ championship drought is hard to fathom

Published August 17, 2026 05:06 PM

He’s the owner and GM. Who else would you blame?

Future does. Past doesn't matter outside of players/coaches who are currently in the org.

What the Cowboys did in 1999 is not relevant to 2026.
Jerry has been the one constant the whole time, so yes what the Jerry did in 1999 is very relevant to 2026 because he's the one that has held this franchise back, and continues to do so.

I know, I know, you'll tell me I'm an idiot or something. Have at it.

If what he did in 1999 is relevant, then so are the Super Bowl years.

No because Jimmy was the one making the football decisions back then. Jerry's been doing it for the last 30 years and he's incompetent.
You don't know what football decisions Jerry was making then vs. now lol.

Just working backwards from a conclusion to make a narrative.

It is hilarious to me how it is very obvious that anyone could point to 30 years ago and say that Jerry doesn't know how to win while managing the salary cap and have a completely logical point about why those years are predictive for now, and none of you even try to make it.

It is right there staring at everyone in the face and is an argument that I would buy.

Ok fine. If that isn't your point, then you agree that the last 30 years doesn't matter.
It matters to me. Maybe because I was a fan for the 25 years before that too...and I know what the Dallas Cowboys SHOULD be.

We seem to be talking in circles.

Until the Cowboys SHOW me on the field....they are who they are. Losers. If this year is different....GREAT. It won't change 30 years, but it could be a new chapter.

I'm not looking at it that way - I don't think the Cowboys are any more or less likely to win based on what they've done in the past.

That's how you guys are looking at it.
So you said this every single year...for 30 years? Harsh..no wonder you're mad.

You're acting the chaos theory expert. Cool.

Ok so then like I said 10 posts ago all the past matters for is feelings.

What a twisted way of looking at things
When your last SB is 30 years ago.
When your last APPEARENCE in the Conference title game was 30 years ago
It's obvious he's playiing a holier than thou role (aka know-it-all) . It's good. Let the kid have it.

It depends on what their prospects for the future are. You don't invest based on past performance.

Would you invest in Amazon? They didn't turn a profit for like 20 years.
Amazon was winning in market share consistently. In other words, you DO invest based on past performance...it's just not the only predictor of future gains.

If that's how you want it...okay.

So YOU use pure logic to fan the team? Okay...fine...have great time with that.
How I want it? You literally just said that lol. This is feelings:

Pure logic? No. I don't even know what that is supposed to mean.

My only stance is that just because they were bad in 1999 doesn't mean they are going to be bad in 2026 lol. That's not exactly scientific.

3 Super Bowls in 34 years is not incompetent, like it or not.

There's no correlation between changing GMs and winning Super Bowls.

By your logic, teams like the Bills and Lions can't win a Super Bowl ever lol
Knock it off. He's 0-30 when he took back football operations from the coaches. That's HIS record.
