To true fellow Cowboy fans. it's OK to be excited

Been retired for 10 years. Live like a king on my ranch. Putting my daughter through med school, just gifted her and her husband a house on a country club, don't owe a penny. Have a second home on south Padre island, liquidated most of my 40 properties and enjoy life. I don't mind the dust. My wife is a UT grad, wasn't for her, she came back to the dust bowl, too. It's not for everyone, but it's been good to me. You sound very bitter. Life is what you make of it, sounds like you got a long way to go. Sorry, hopefully things will look up for you.
Nice.

I don't have that level of success, but I do own a ranch w/ a paid off house and good retirement accounts. Great wife and great family. I've got it good.

100% what I believe.

To add, we now have a D that other playoffs teams shouldn't be able to run against unhindered. And, we can now run the ball ourselves. Those 2 facets alone make us a completely different team than we have been going all the way back to at least 07.
So are you saying when we play the Rams in the playoffs, they will not be getting over 200 yards rushing?
:laugh::thumbup:

Uh, no. You don't "sniff" any championships when you never even win a divisional round game, and you know this.
Best chance was 07. What happened? We strangely and suddenly changed our model of success. Instead of starting Julius, we turned around and started MBIII, which rendered him completely ineffective. Why would we do this? Only answer I can think of is Jerry.

I agree . But considering we haven’t made a change at the top should we have expected more. Just saying ..
I do. However, horrific GMing, complete w/ the worst player evaluation I've ever seen from any NFL franchise, has always kept us from the top. Whenever we get close, the odd drafting takes over along w/ releasing players who got us there. Rinse wash repeat.

I said, trying, I didn’t say accomplished
The OP's decision to call people names and to ridicule anyone who doesn't agree w/ him makes this a horrifically inane thread. He should not be complimented by anyone. Anyone who starts a thread w/ insults such as this should be informed that it's not w/i the rules. Agreeing w/ him simply prolongs the spatting on this site.

I am not against the positivity of the thread, I am against the cheap little insults he wantonly threw out there, which ruined his own thread.

I don't think anybody's better because I don't believe fandom is a competition it's just different for everybody.

Circumstances alter cases and every fan has a slightly different viewpoint because of what they've experienced.

Having watched the best of cowboy football in the moment the product I watch now leaves me uninspired.

I continue to watch because I am hopeful that at some point our owner will actually go all in and use his resources to do what's right and try and win a championship.

An offseason like this where effort was actually made definitely gives me hope.
Hear hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's great, congratulations!! I built my home in 2002. Took me 58 days. Sold 2 properties to pay for it, not having a house payment for the last 24 years has allowed us to do a lot of things. Paid all my daughter's school, paid every dime of her wedding, wife and I retired at 50. Enjoy my dad that turned 91 yesterday and she enjoys her mom. My daughter's house is about a mile away. Very fortunate to live in this dust bowl, that we call home. Lol

Tons of hard work and money management. Anyone can do it, most would rather fill their days w/ convenience stores and meal deliveries. Any way they can to make it easy. And then complain about not having money.

Same here.
A disagreement isn't an attack. Its just a differing point of view. You just think that anyone who isn't "rah rah rah" like you is a hater and rather than hold a civil conversation you just go down the Rockport rabbit hole of negativity and attacks.

That and I suppose you haven't read the verbiage and tone of your OPs have you? Its not always what you say, but the way that you say it.

Let's put it this way, you have the reputation you do, and probably are the most blocked person in this forum, for a reason. Maybe one year you could take that to heart and learn from it.

This entire thread is case in point for why there had to be a tutorial thread for how to use the ignore feature.

Maybe try something called “agree to disagree?”

Not everyone has to think alike, and many times both point and counterpoint can both be true.

We are finally going into a season where there is reason to believe we have a chance of winning it all. The pieces are now in place to pull it off. For all the years Jerry has held us back, you can finally give him a smidge of credit for what he did this offseason. It started with the trade of Parsons that put us a position to completely revamp the defense. Not just revamp - but improve exponentially at all levels. And despite what some morons continue to say here, we have an outstanding QB who likely plays the best season of his career. Offense will be dominant. Defense goes from being a complete liability to a strength. Of course, everyone knows that regardless of talent, certain things must go your way to win it all - but the fact is, we have a roster capable of pulling it off.

And again, in the big picture it's entertainment. Not life and death. It's meant to be fun. And for the first time in a long time, you have a team you can be proud of and have fun supporting.
We are at least one more good offseason away from this IMO even if 'certain things go our way'. But, we are leaps and bounds ahead of last year so the needle is pointing in the right direction and I am excited for the season

I love the guys that think they are super fans because they are more positive. 30 plus years plus the owners are more annoying than ever before. Fans have a right to be skeptical. Not being skeptical is weird. I contend the HC is not a serious coach and the OTs are trash. There is a reason to have hope for sure but remember this...week 1 will not be easy and the division is much tougher now. Hence, being skeptical after DECADES of disappointment is the only way that makes sense.

It's more than just the Patriots. A lot of teams have been very successful overall since the salary cap. The Pats, Broncos, Giants, Packers, Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks, Ravens, and Eagles have all had multiple Super Bowls and Championship games. Dallas not so much. The obvious reason's why is not explained away by the salary cap. It's bad GM, Coaching, and players. It has been systemic. Everyone knows it too.
Blah, blah, blah. Same thing every day as if no one knows Jerry’s the main problem. Do you ever get tired of *****ing or is it just normal for you?
