Jalen Hurts Throws 5 INTs During Joint Practice With Patriots

I'll just say that's not good. Not good at all. It's a whole new system for him so he could be struggling with it early.

But on the flipside, if Dak had a really bad showing (and he has) in workouts, the excuse making would be pretty epic from some.

I've long taken the position that what vets do in workouts like these are largely meaningless in most cases. The most important news for them is that they get through camp healthy. So if Dak goes out and throws 5 picks against some team in a workout, well that sucks but for this franchise, the more important news is did he get through the practice without getting hurt.

Hurts’ passing has regressed. He was way more efficient early in his career. Not sure what happened. Can’t see him lasting in Philly too much longer.

Trent Dilfer has a Superbowl win. All that says is some quarterbacks are fortunate to have been on a Superbowl winning team.
Hurts was hardly "fortunate" to be on a SB winning team. He was the MVP of the Super Bowl. LOL.

There is no comparison between Dilfer in the SB and Hurts in the SB.

Hurts for sure was carried to the SB. To his credit he played well in the SB's. We can't pretend like having to worry about Saquon coming off 2k yards wasn't more of a concern than Hurts was. I do think he was carried but he played well in the SB. Same thing I'll say about Eli. He played well on the way to those SB's.

Larry Brown, Dexter Jackson, and Malcolm Smith were also Superbowl MVPs as well.... it doesn't mean they were great players, but they certainly had great moments.

With that said, I mentioned Dilfer because you mentioned him winning a Superbowl. Well so did Dilfer. Superbowl wins are just a quarterback accomplishment, its a team accomplishment.

Its not telling the whole story when someone says, "Player A won a Superbowl or Player B won a Superbowl. Last I checked, everyone on that winning Superbowl team that played and contributed in it won the Superbowl. They don't hand out Superbowl rings to just the quarterback, they hand them out to all the players on the team and the coaches for a reason.

This isn't boxing or golf.

Words of wisdom.

Stop. Pretending Hurts was just ham and egging it during the regular season is wild. He had a rating of 104, had 32 combined touchdowns and ran for 650 yards.

Sure Barkley was also a massive part but pretending Hurts was some bum like Dilfer being pulled through the season is wild.

But honestly, that might the high water mark for him. He’s been “ehhh” ever since.

He had the best offensive line in the league. Carried. I don’t think Dilfer was a bum or Hurts. Never came out of my mouth. I’m just saying if you give about 25 QBs that offense they make the Super Bowl. Do they win it? I don’t know like I said I give Hurts credit for his SB play for sure. I think he’s a top 10 guy or was.

Seems like the weapons got worse and he did….

I think its only "worrying" if Philadelphia is implementing a more aggressive passing Hurts. Hurts has a razor thin career INT rate

I hate Alabama as a college football fan, but I remember the first time watching Hurts play for Alabama. Then he became the second string QB of really no fault of his own. Then I remember he ended up transferring to Oklahoma and came across his name again. At the time, I was actually happy for his rebound at another school.

Say what you will about Hurts, but he does seem like a team player. I honestly thought he got screwed at Alabama, but he did what he had to do, didn't bad mouth anyone, and moved on. Seems like Saban has respect for the guy from what he's said of his career, and that tells me enough about the guy.

From what I've seen he doesn't seem like a great passing QB, but he does what he needs to do to win (he can throw some dimes and then wondering what he's doing LOL) and he seems very politically correct when he voices his opinion.

We all know Hurts is a gamer. He plays better when things get real. Don't celebrate the guys demise too fast guys. It's practice.
