Well I was sitting in my 70 Z28 Camaro listening to AM radio and heard that we drafted Tony dorsett.
And that's exactly what I said championship but I ment it and knew he was the last piece to the puzzle.

I remember watching Pitt win the national championship game and thought, it would be cool if somehow the Cowboys could draft Dorsett.

i dont need a panel of alleged "experts" on nfl network to tell me what i already know.....tony dorsett was...is....and forever will be one of the 100 greatest players to ever play this game.
and i will not pretend tony dorsett didn't happen.
he did.
and this game is for the better because of it.

As the years have gone by, it seems that Dorsett is somewhat under appreciated.

I believe the true measure of his greatness was in the fact that he was college football’s all time leading rusher for over 20 years. Over 6000 yards and a four time All-American.

When he retired from the NFL he was the 2nd all time leading rusher behind Walter Payton.

He was fabulous.

When he became a Cowboy, he became my favorite player right away.

I always like RB's as my favorite players more so than any other.
Dorsett, Walker, Emmitt. Loved they draft Zeke.

Now Pickens is my favorite though. As it may take a long time for them to get another RB that I may like.

I was at the heisman dinner a few years ago and TD was at the afterparty in the hotel. He and I sat a drank together for about 30 minutes. Really good guy and he can put them away. I asked him about his 99 yard run. He said the Minnesota defense was really big that year. He was in the huddle praying Tom Landry would not give it to him. They called the play and he ran for his life scared. That's how he told it. Great story and a thrill for me.

Tony was smooth as silk, fast as heck, and awesome to watch play. He was one of a kind and I still can't believe Seattle traded their pick to the Cowboys so we could draft him. His jersey was the 1st jersey I ever owned and at that time official jerseys weren't really a thing. I still have it but I don't fit into it. Lol

Everyone knew Tony D coming out of college, he won the Heisman trophy. He wasn't some no name.

They say great players sometimes play scared and that's what motivated them. Jerry Rice said the same thing.

I still remember how excited I was when we got Tony D. He did not disappoint.
