Here we go again with Milton

I don't think there is a Browns fan happy with that decision. Not saying Shedeur Sanders is the answer either, but at least he is not the polarizing presence and cancer that is Watson.
Week 3 home opener: Shedeur will be QB 1; it's all in the plan for the Browns

Yeah ive got CD, GP, Flournoy, Turp, Brown, and Mingo.

We have to go short somewhere else.
9 OL
Maybe go 1 less on the DL or LB. Depending how they want to do a rotation.
I have them helping only 5 DT's. Toia the odd man out.
As for LB's, if they go with 8 instead of 9. That will be a tough choice. I currently have them keeping 9
DB is a spot they could go less.

I have
QB - 3, WR - 6, RB - 3, FB -1, TE - 3, OL - 9
DT - 5, ILB - 4, OLB - 5, CB - 6, S - 4, Slot / S - 1 (Downs)
ST's - 3

They can alway keep 2 QB's, therefore opening another spot for any other position.

Can you name me other players that are hyped up like this that dont play? Ive heard from the Shannon Sharpe podcast, now I just heard it on NFL Network that Milton is too good to not be starting somewhere. Well, reality is he is on a rookie deal and still have next season under that rookie deal..... so he isnt going anywhere. And no, those of you asking about trading him.... not a chance with the way he has played this preseason.

Then, they started talking about Shiyazh Pete and if he will be on the roster. Bahahhah.... holy crap, that is your proof the Cowboys are America's team when you spend time talking about a player who has zero chance of making the team.
I think it's more appreciating his (seemingly) improvement. I don't see too many people saying he's ready to assume #1 HERE.

If cheering him on for success is "hype"...count me in.

They hype train drives up his potential trade value. I'm all for it, and it's not like it's entirely baseless. He's shown considerable improvement since arriving in Dallas. This time last year he looked like a green, unrefined ball of talent.

Right now he looks like a viable backup QB option that could develop into something more. He's reading the field and making better decisions. He has control of the pocket and isn't looking to take off if the first read is covered. He's trending up. That's a good thing.
That's all there is to it!

As I said, there is no wilder a time in all of sports than preseason football when backups become future stars.

Talking heads were trying to clown last season when he didn't know the play book. Now he's getting fitted for a gold jacket! Lol

That being said, I hope he takes the Jordan Love and gets a year or 2 to develop and take the reins from Dak when the times right.

Like someone mention earlier in this thread. Milton is a QB with a ton of potential on a rookie contract. He has flashed at times but also looked like a work in progress as well. Its promising to see the plays he made in preseason thus far but it appears we're only going to see Milton in preseason and blowout games. Now if Dak does go down with injury, Milton has a opportunity to elevate his worth with a offense with playmakers on both sides and respectable TE in the middle of the field.

Depending on his success in the absence of Dak, Jerry would have to either pay Milton in 2 years or come across another team signing him as a result. If that is the case, Cowboys should get a high comp pick being worse case scenario.

We can value him differently. I know we have search for years for a back up now that we have one people want to trade him. Yes he will go when his contract is up. So trade him just before
Realistically, what do you think our chances are of making it to the NFC Championship game WITH Dak? The defense would have to complete a monumental turnaround from last year, and Dak would have to perform well in the playoffs.
So yeah, I'm taking a 2nd all day every day for Milton. Of course, we'd be counting on an idiotic team to offer a 2nd, and CLE is all stacked up with crappy QBs at the moment.

you have no reason to trade a BACKUP QB on a rookie contract. It is not in the best interest of the team to play him. Did I say he should start over Dak? Dude is making chump change and is going to be your number 2 qb. Thats a good spot for the TEAM to be in.
Yep. Maybe we have reliable backup who could win a couple games when Prescott goes down. Cause he’s almost certain to do so. He hasn’t had consecutive seasons without an injury in 10 years.

Not very good chances without Prescott.

No one is offering a 2nd for Milton . He had one good preseason game. After first preseason game were thinking Howell might be better.

Fans need to pipe down a little. Good news we might have a backup who could win if and probably when Prescott goes down.

You’ve admitted to nit even liking the Cowboys at this point lol. You might as well be a Eagles fan lol
There’s a ton of old Cowboys fans who haven’t liked what our franchise has become this era with Jethro as GM.

We love the Cowboys but hate our owner. Locally we had a poll by newspaper that revealed while Cowboys are the most popular and beloved franchise in DFW area our owner and GM Jethro is most hated sports personality.

Definitely a mixed bag of emotions !!

I wonder what that polling would be if the Cowboys got rid of Dak. Think those numbers look different then.

If we can't get a first keep him till the end of the season I take a second and something. I've heard people call him the best back up in the NFL. Dak has a history of enjury

I agree. He had 2 good preseason games in his career and because of one pretty spiral he is starting material

If that's the case then somebody should pay us a first eound pick for him and I will make that trade in half a heartbeat
Partly his arm but I think the bigger draw is mobility in the pocket and making plays out of the pocket. Look at Josh Allen and Mahommes - not really hyped because of their pocket passing but more because of their playmaking ability. That is what the NFL looks for these days!

Websites are saying "league sources" indicate Milton could net the Cowboys a 4th round pick "if the right QB hungry team calls and the situation is right".

Getting the pick they traded away for Rashan Gary back again would be nice, but....what if Milton is Dak's successor?

No, I don’t think it has anything to do with Prescott. Fans seem to still be supportive of the players despite the owner .

A pretty good analogy is you are still rooting for the kids while bitter with ex wife. And it has been like a good marriage gone bad after early success with Jimmy.
