Well that's why you don't do something like that right now let them continue to build and progress but also to become even more valuable And you shouldn't be afraid to trade the guy but it would be a 3rd for me that would have to do it like if someone came to the Cowboys right now and offered a 3rd you have to do it.. It would suck if in about three years he became Sam Darnold holding up a trophy with the Browns or something i'm just throwing that out there trying to figure out who would give us a 3rd who'd be stupid enough to give us a 3rd for Milton with just hype right now..

Rogers wanted 3 years behind Favre and Young waited 4 years behind Montana but that NFL model has changed since then.

You are going to have to make some decision on Dak at the end of this year as his cap number is 76 million in 27 and 86 in 28.

Either figure out what you have with Milton this year or trade him. Those are the only two options!

Milton or not you have GOT to figure out a way out of your own stupidity.

I know modern NFL QB dollars are way different than the working class bucks...but good lord! With nothing to show for it so far, except Really Good Guy awards. .

This was all just a theoretical response to someone saying they wouldn't take a 2nd for him. Nobody is offering a 2nd. The guy isn't that good.

That is not correct, milton has two years left on his contract, so he can be the backup for two more years regardless of what they do with Dak... Milton might become the next joe montana 18 months from now and the decision to cut ties with Dak could be obvious... Look, what I'm saying it, Dak could get hurt and Milton may come in and pull a Dak/Romo thing..

Getting a first is not out of the question: Some team actually moved up in the first rd to take Trey Lance, and then, after he sucked, some other team gave away a 4th rd pick for him.

We did give a 5th for him. If he was to get some regular season playing time and performed as such he’d receive more.

But it was just last week we were talking like it would be a tough decision whether we kept Howell or Milton.

And most were arguing on Howell behalf because he has more experience starting.
