I’d cut Shelton and try to put him on the practice squad.

I’d keep Moore strictly because I don’t see a 4th cornerback better than he is.

Bland, Durant, Revel, Bridges, Carson. Moore cant stay healthy

Moore does have very good potential. Keep him.

I would keep Shelton over Thomas. Even though Shelton is a project player.

You don't give up on prospects after 2 preseason games. You have to give them an opportunity to grow into pro players.

If we cut Shelton to try to bring him back to the PS after how bad he's looked (0.0 PFF rating in a game), would anyone come knocking for him as maybe a multiyear project?

I didn't realize it was possible to get a PFF score that low

I have them keeping 10 DB's. I think he is on the roster.

They might keep him on the 53 just because they think they will lose him. But that doesn't mean they think he's going to contribute.

They did the same thing with Eric Scott.

very doubtful. Every year poeple are scared that other teams will grab up the players cut and rarely does it happen. Teams have thier own guys that have been with them since the OTA began, they know their system, they know the team, etc. Now if you are cutting a 1st or 2nd round pick then its different but 4th rounds are completely safe.

Per a quick AI search since 2000 99.4% of 4th rounders make the 53 man roster of the team that drafted them.

We can’t say a 4th rounder is safe from being picked up because them getting cut happens so infrequently.

Not sure how many team have room for a non-contributing player on their 53 this early in the season.

I somewhat agree but I’m sure teams see a ton of value in a free rookie 4th rounder that still has 4 years of cheap team control. It’s rare to see these guys hit the waiver wire. I’d bet someone pulls the trigger.

Shelton is safe. Moore? That’s much more iffy since teams can go deep there.

Regardless, the fourth round and the Cowboys have been a bad mix lately in several ways. I guess that’s good considering it used to be the second and third.

I think Shelton isn’t at all ready to even be a backup and his preseason film shows it. No one can afford to carry him active all year.
