1. I like Milton as the back up but Howell played really well also
2. Do the Cowboys finally have a MLB that can attack the line LOS Barham could be that guy
3. The only reason why Mingo is on the 53 is so Jerry doesn't have to admit it was a bad trade
4. How the hell do you not keep Camden Brown on the 53, nope he won't make it through waivers
5. This is the end for Sam Williams in Dallas and he won't be missed
6. You can also say that for Carson, and Liufau
7. Malik Davis won't go away, he took RB2 right out of the hands of Blue and Mafa
8. RT is going to cost the Cowboys a few games, better get on the phone and try to make a trade
9. Why is Caleb Downs considered a "nickle safety" he needs to be on the field at all times
10. Stop talking about trading Turpin, the guy is a weapon and can take it to the house on kick returns

3. The only reason why Mingo is on the 53 is so Jerry doesn't have to admit it was a bad trade

Not true at all.
Mingo has had a very good TC and PS games.
Just as good at Brown had. Plus he plays ST's.
That is why he did not sit up and Brown did.

Brown showed again why he belongs on the 53.

They will keep both.

You are pretty off on these dude....

3 - mingo is great on STs and has made immense progress, keeping him has zero to do with jerrys ego.

4. They will keep him but probably not on the inital roster....as has been noticed on average each team takes 1 player off of waivers and they are almost never wrs. Most teams have a brown that they cut.

10. While turpin had a lot of retuen yards the "take it to the house" threat isnt as warranted as you make it sound...he didnt score a single time last year

All 3 players will be back and all 3 will contribute in different ways

#10 you're right!!

#9. He ain’t coming off the field. He will play multiple positions in multiple defenses. Nickel is just one of his responsibilities.

2. In his limited time last night, Barham was very mid and looked more like Jaylon than a stud. Far from giving up on him, but if impressions of last night were long-lasting, I am not enthusiastic. He seems to be raw, but will learn

3. If we are excited about others, Mingo should give reason to be optimistic as well. He offers more than what many fans realize

10. Turpin would be missed, he isn't going anywhere

They will, but it was still a bad trade. We gave up a fourth for a player who has barely seen the field, and isn't likely to see it much outside of special teams. But he did show himself worthy of a roster spot as depth this preseason. Brown already looks like a better receiver, but he probably won't be active because Mingo is a better special-teammer.

If he only played in nickel, then he'd still be on the field 70 percent of the time. I do think he could start off not out there when we use a two-safety defense. They may go with Hooker and Thompson at first before Downs eventually takes snaps from Hooker.

But was it really a bad trade. How many 4th round picks came in and made an impact?
No names jump out.

We say this after yr, won’t make it to the pa, but 9 times out of 10 they do. Mingo has had a good camp just like Brown but has been a bigger standout on special teams that is why he will be in the roster

I'm not saying we would have gotten a good player with a fourth-rounder. It's hit and miss.

However, when you are trading picks for veterans, you expect to get more of a contributor out of it. We traded a fifth-rounder this year for Dee Winters and we certainly expect him to be more than the fifth linebacker. If he only plays on special teams, then that wasn't a good trade either.

I mean, we traded a sixth for Cooks and Gilmore and definitely got more out of them than we've gotten out of Mingo. This trade is closer to the Murray and Elam trades, or even the Lance trade.

The thing that separates Milton from Howell and it’s why I chose Milton before camp is his ability to stretch plays . If the pass rush is strong enough ( Giants ) Howell is either sacked or putting it up for grabs . Milton can step up slide to the side either run it himself or see who’s open . Milton back up Howell PS if he doesn’t get claimed .

2. Do the Cowboys finally have a MLB that can attack the line LOS Barham could be that guy
Maybe but last night was not that impressive.

3. The only reason why Mingo is on the 53 is so Jerry doesn't have to admit it was a bad trade
Nope. He has had a very good training camp and he is valuable on special teams. And he is a minimum salary.

4. How the hell do you not keep Camden Brown on the 53, nope he won't make it through waivers
I agree we need to keep Brown, but Mingo has done just as much, is a good ST guy and has one thing that Brown doesn't: speed.

5. This is the end for Sam Williams in Dallas and he won't be missed
Again, we are talking about cheap depth. He hasn't lived up to his drat status, but Sam has had a pretty decent camp. He is a decent ST guy.
6. You can also say that for Carson, and Liufau
Carson most likely a goner....too many penalties. I would keep Steward over him. I think the team has a difference of opinion in regard to Liufau. I think they like his versatility and they consider him a core ST guy.
7. Malik Davis won't go away, he took RB2 right out of the hands of Blue and Mafa
8. RT is going to cost the Cowboys a few games, better get on the phone and try to make a trade
Not sure it has to be a trade, there will be some vets released that could do the swing OT job. There are even a few street free agents out there that would fit. I do think we need better than what we have there.
9. Why is Caleb Downs considered a "nickle safety" he needs to be on the field at all times
You apparently don't understand the defense we are playing. Downs will be on the field all the time.
10. Stop talking about trading Turpin, the guy is a weapon and can take it to the house on kick returns
Yes, I mean he has done it so many times. (Once). And with the new kicking game....it isn't likely he adds to that total. If Turpin could get me a swing T, I would make that trade for sure.

I know WR is full when you add Camden Brown to the mix but I sure hope Jordan Hudson and Anthony Smith are on the Dallas PS ready if injuries pop up .

I'm totally with you on ~85% of this!

#8 — You won't find many people more critical of Terence Steele than me but I don't know that he'll cost you multiple games—he will however require you to essentially run with 10 players on offense a good portion of the time by using a RB or TE to help him with edge rushers.

#9 — Don't worry about what Downs' label is, because you're right — he will not come off the field much.

Everything else...
